 Duminică, 27 octombrie 2024, Proverbele 31:1-31

Acest ultim capitol din cartea Proverbelor are cel puțin patru teme:

1.     Evitarea adulterului (vers. 1-3): ,,Nu-ţi da femeilor vlaga şi dezmierdările tale celor ce pierd pe împărați.” (vers. 3)

2.     Evitarea alcoolului (vers. 4-7): ,,Nu se cade împăraţilor, Lemuele, nu se cade împăraţilor să bea vin, nici voievozilor să umble după băuturi tari.” (vers. 4)

3.     Indispensabilitatea dreptății în justiție (vers. 8-9): ,,Deschide-ţi gura, judecă cu dreptate şi apără pe cel nenorocit şi pe cel lipsit.” (vers. 9)

4.     Portretul femeii ideale (vers. 10-31):

a)           O femeie prețioasă (vers. 10)

b)          Inspiră încredere (vers. 11)

c)           Angajată să-i facă bine soțului ei (vers. 12)

d)          Harnică, organizată și foarte pricepută (vers. 13-22, 24-25)

e)           Contribuie la buna reputație a soțului ei (vers. 23)

f)           Înțeleaptă și oferă sfaturi bune și echilibrate (vers. 26)

g)          Ospitalieră (vers. 27)

h)          Respectată de soțul și copiii ei (vers. 28)

i)            Respectată de comunitate (vers. 29)

Dincolo de frumusețe și desfătări, cea mai înaltă virtute pentru o femeie este să se teamă de Dumnezeu (vers. 30). O astfel de femeie va atrage aprecierea și admirația comunității. Caracterul unei astfel de femei contrastează cu senzualitatea specifică timpului nostru – un timp caracterizat de indecență, lipsă de rușine, familii destrămate și comercializarea plăcerii…

Dincolo de efemeritatea acestor comportamente degradante, femeia care se teme de Domnul are viitor.

Să ne rugăm pentru mamele, soțiile, fiicele și nepoatele noastre, cerând lui Dumnezeu să le binecuvânteze!

Sunday, October 27, 2024 – Proverbs 31:1-31

This last chapter of the book of Proverbs contains at least four themes:

1. Avoiding adultery (verses 1-3): “Do not spend your strength on women, your vigor on those who ruin kings.” (verse 3)
2. Avoiding alcohol (verses 4-7): “It is not for kings, Lemuel—it is not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer.” (verse 4)
3. The indispensability of justice (verses 8-9): “Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” (verse 9)
4. The portrait of the ideal woman (verses 10-31):

a)     She is a precious woman (verse 10)

b)    She inspires confidence (verse 11)

c)     She is committed to doing good for her husband (verse 12)

d)    Hardworking, organized, and highly skilled (verses 13-22, 24-25)

e)     She contributes to her husband’s good reputation (verse 23)

f)     She is wise and gives sound, balanced advice (verse 26)

g)    She is hospitable (verse 27)

h)    Respected by her husband and children (verse 28)

i)      Respected by the community (verse 29)

Beyond beauty and pleasures, the highest virtue for a woman is to fear the Lord (verse 30). Such a woman will attract the appreciation and admiration of the community. The character of such a woman contrasts with the sensuality specific to our time—a time marked by indecency, shamelessness, broken families, and the commercialization of pleasure.

Beyond the fleeting nature of these degrading behaviors, the woman who fears the Lord has a future.
