Psalmul 53 este o copia aproape identică a Psalmului 14 și a fost trimis către mai marele cântăreților. Când faraon a avut două vise asemănătoare, înțelepții Egiptului nu au putut tălmăci mesajul. Iosif, fiind chemat să tălmăcească visul, i-a spus lui Faraon: ,,Cât privește faptul că Faraon a visat visul de două ori, înseamnă că lucrul este hotărât din partea lui Dumnezeu și că Dumnezeu Se va grăbi să-l aducă la îndeplinire.” (Geneza 41:16) Repetiția este o figură de stil. Uneori acesta este modul de lucru al lui Dumnezeu.
Dacă psalmii 14 și 53 se asemănă mult în conținut, ei sunt diferiți în caracter:
1. Psalmul 14 este o cântare, iar psalmul 53 este o predică.
2. Psalmul 14 proclamă verdictul Creatorului, iar psalmul 53 explică răzbunarea divină.
3. Psalmul 14 vorbește despre păcatul omului, iar psalmul 53 vorbește despre omul păcătos.
4. Psalmul 14 este juridic, iar psalmul 53 este un psalm de judecată.
5. În psalmul 14, Dumnezeu este numit Yehova de 3 ori, iar în psalmul 53, Dumnezeu este numit Elohim de 7 ori.
Psalmul de față surprinde trei categorii de oameni sau trei faze în viața acestora:
1. Oameni răzvrătiți (vers. 1-4): ,,Nebunul zice în inima lui: „Nu este Dumnezeu!” S-au stricat oamenii, au săvârşit fărădelegi urâte, nu este niciunul care să facă binele” (vers. 1).
2. Oameni războinici (vers. 5): ,,Atunci vor tremura de spaimă fără să fie vreo pricină de spaimă; Dumnezeu va risipi oasele celor ce tăbărăsc împotriva ta, îi vei face de ruşine, căci Dumnezeu i-a lepădat.” (vers. 5)
3. Oameni restaurați (vers. 6): ,,O, cine va face să pornească din Sion izbăvirea lui Israel? Când va aduce Dumnezeu înapoi pe prinşii de război ai poporului Său, Iacov se va veseli şi Israel se va bucura.” (vers. 6)
Deși Psalmul 53 începe și continuă într-o notă dramatică, finalul lui este luminos. Dumnezeu promite că-i va aduce înapoi pe ,,prinșii de război ai poporului Său, Iacov se va veseli și Israel se va bucura” (vers. 6b). Știm că ,,toată lumea zace în cel rău” (1 Ioan 5:19).
„Dumnezeu nu ține seama de vremurile de neștiință şi poruncește acum tuturor oamenilor de pretutindeni să se pocăiască; pentru că a rânduit o zi în care va judeca lumea după dreptate, prin Omul pe care L-a rânduit pentru aceasta şi despre care a dat tuturor oamenilor o dovadă netăgăduită, prin faptul că L-a înviat din morți…” (Fapte 17:30, 31)
Evanghelizarea lumii este responsabilitatea Bisericii. Să ne rugăm și să ne implicăm împreună pentru împlinirea acestui mandat pe care ni l-a încredințat Mântuitorul Isus Cristos!

Wednesday, June 19, 2024 – Psalm 53:1-6
Psalm 53 is an almost identical copy of Psalm 14 and was sent to the chief musician. When Pharaoh had two similar dreams, the wise men of Egypt could not interpret the message. Joseph, being called to interpret the dream, told Pharaoh: “The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon.” (Genesis 41:32) Repetition is a figure of speech. Sometimes this is how God works.
If Psalms 14 and 53 are very similar in content, they are different in character:
1. Psalm 14 is a song, while Psalm 53 is a sermon.
2. Psalm 14 proclaims the Creator's verdict, while Psalm 53 explains divine retribution.
3. Psalm 14 speaks of man's sin, while Psalm 53 speaks of the sinful man.
4. Psalm 14 is juridical, while Psalm 53 is a psalm of judgment.
5. In Psalm 14, God is called Jehovah three times, while in Psalm 53, God is called Elohim seven times.
This psalm captures three categories of people or three phases in their lives:
1. Rebellious people (verses 1-4): “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.” (verse 1)
2. Warlike people (verse 5): “But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, where there was nothing to dread. God scattered the bones of those who attacked you; you put them to shame, for God despised them.” (verse 5)
3. Restored people (verse 6): “Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!” (verse 6)
Although Psalm 53 begins and continues in a dramatic tone, its ending is bright. God promises to bring back “the captives of His people; let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad” (verse 6b). We know that “the whole world is under the control of the evil one” (1 John 5:19).
“In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead…” (Acts 17:30-31)
The evangelization of the world is the responsibility of the Church. Let us pray and get involved together to fulfill this mandate entrusted to us by our Savior Jesus Christ!
