Luni, 15 iulie 2024 – Psalmul 79:1-13

Acesta este al optulea dintre cei 12 psalmi scriși de Asaf. Psalmul vorbește despre distrugerea Ierusalimului și a Templului de către puternica armată a lui Nebucadnețar, regele Babilonului. În chip profetic, psalmul anticipează venirea lui Anticrist și pângărirea Templului din Ierusalim.

Psalmul este împărțit în două părți:

1.     Plângerile lui Asaf (vers. 1-12).

Haldeii au distrus Ierusalimul, Casa Domnului și poporul Domnului. “Dumnezeule, au năvălit neamurile în moștenirea Ta, au pângărit Templul Tău cel sfânt și au prefăcut Ierusalimul într-un morman de pietre. Trupurile neînsuflețite ale robilor Tăi le-au dat să le mănânce păsările cerului, și carnea credincioșilor Tăi au dat-o s-o mănânce fiarele pământului. Ca apa le-au vărsat sângele, de jur împrejurul Ierusalimului, și n-a fost nimeni să-i îngroape. Am ajuns de ocara vecinilor noștri, de batjocura și de râsul celor ce ne înconjoară.” (vers. 1-4).

Asaf s-a rugat Domnului să intervină, să ierte poporul și să-l izbăvească (vers. 5-12). “Ajută-ne, Dumnezeul mântuirii noastre, pentru slava Numelui Tău! Izbăvește-ne și iartă-ne păcatele, pentru Numele Tău!” (vers. 9).

2.     Promisiunea lui Asaf (vers. 13)

“Și noi, poporul Tău, turma pășunii Tale, Te vom lăuda în veci și vom vesti din neam în neam laudele Tale.” (vers. 13).

Poporul sfânt s-a angajat să-L laude pe Dumnezeu și să se laude cu Dumnezeu. A promis să-I cânte lui Dumnezeu și să cânte despre Dumnezeu.

Să ne rugăm împreună astăzi pentru închinare și misiune. Închinarea noastră este pentru Dumnezeu, misiunea noastră este pentru Dumnezeu. Aceasta este scopul nostru pe pământ: să ne cunoaștem Creatorul și să-i ajutăm și pe ceilalți oameni să-L cunoască.

Monday, July 15, 2024 – Psalm 79:1-13

This is the eighth of the 12 psalms written by Asaph. The psalm speaks about the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by the powerful army of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. Prophetically, the psalm anticipates the coming of the Antichrist and the desecration of the Temple in Jerusalem.

The psalm is divided into two parts:

1. Asaph's Lamentations (verses 1-12)

The Chaldeans destroyed Jerusalem, the House of the Lord, and the people of the Lord. “O God, the nations have invaded Your inheritance; they have defiled Your holy temple, they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble. They have given the dead bodies of Your servants as food to the birds of the sky, the flesh of Your own people to the animals of the wild. They have poured out blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury the dead. We are objects of contempt to our neighbors, of scorn and derision to those around us.” (verses 1-4).

Asaph prayed to the Lord to intervene, to forgive the people, and to deliver them (verses 5-12). “Help us, God our Savior, for the glory of Your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for Your name's sake.” (verse 9).

2. Asaph's Promise (verse 13)

“Then we Your people, the sheep of Your pasture, will praise You forever; from generation to generation we will proclaim Your praise.” (verse 13). The holy people committed to praising God and boasting in God alone. They promised to sing to God and sing about God.

Let us pray together today for worship and mission. Our worship is for God, our mission is for God. This is our purpose on earth: to know our Creator and to help others know Him as well.
