Primele trei capitole ale cărții explică cum Dumnezeu l-a pregătit pe Ezechiel pentru misiunea profetică pe care o urma să o îndeplinească. În capitolele 4-11, Dumnezeu transmite prin Ezechiel mai multe profeții prin care anunță judecata și pedeapsa pentru locuitorii din Iuda. Mesajul din capitolul 11 conține o judecată împotriva locuitorilor Ierusalimului. Totuși, acest capitol include și promisiunea lui Dumnezeu că va salva rămășița lui Iuda. Înainte ca slava lui Dumnezeu să părăsească orașul, s-a oprit la poarta Ierusalimului. Duhul l-a răpit pe Ezechiel și l-a dus, de asemenea, la poarta Ierusalimului. 

Capitolul 11 poate fi împărțit în câteva secțiuni:

1.     Dumnezeu îl instruiește pe profetul Ezechiel (vers. 1-4) „Duhul m-a răpit și m-a dus la poarta de răsărit a Casei Domnului, care caută spre răsărit. Și iată că, la intrarea porții, erau douăzeci și cinci de oameni și, în mijlocul lor, am văzut pe Iaazania, fiul lui Azur, și pe Pelatia, fiul lui Benaia, căpeteniile poporului.” (vers. 1)

2.     Profeția pe care Domnul i-a dat-o lui Ezechiel pentru cei doi lideri ai poporului, Iaazania, fiul lui Azur, și Pelatia, fiul lui Benaia (vers. 5-12) Pelatia, una dintre cele două căpetenii, a murit în timp ce profetul spunea mesajul din partea lui Dumnezeu (vers. 13).

3.     Promisiunea întoarcerii exilaților și înnoirii inimilor (vers. 14-21) „Le voi da o altă inimă și voi pune în voi un duh nou; voi lua din trupul lor inima de piatră și le voi da o inimă de carne.” (vers. 19) Evreii din Babilon sunt rămășița pe care Dumnezeu o va aduce înapoi și îi va da o inimă nouă.

4.     Dumnezeu l-a răpit prin Duhul pe Ezechiel și l-a dus în vedenie în Babilon (vers. 22-25) „Pe mine însă m-a răpit Duhul și m-a dus iarăși în vedenie, prin Duhul lui Dumnezeu, în Haldeea, la prinșii de război. Și astfel vedenia pe care o avusesem a pierit de la mine.” (vers. 24)

Știind că Dumnezeu este drept și pedepsește păcatul, dar este și milostiv, oferind restaurare celor care Îl caută cu sinceritate, să-L căutăm, să-L cinstim și să-L slujim!

The first three chapters of the book explain how God prepared Ezekiel for the prophetic mission he was about to fulfill. In chapters 4–11, God speaks through Ezekiel to deliver several prophecies announcing judgment and punishment for the people of Judah. The message in chapter 11 includes a judgment against the inhabitants of Jerusalem. However, this chapter also includes God's promise to save the remnant of Judah. Before the glory of God departed from the city, it stopped at the gate of Jerusalem. The Spirit also took Ezekiel and brought him to the gate of Jerusalem.

Chapter 11 can be divided into several sections:

1. God instructs the prophet Ezekiel (verses 1–4)
   “The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the Lord that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.” (verse 1)
2. The prophecy the Lord gave Ezekiel for the two leaders of the people, Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah (verses 5–12)
   Pelatiah, one of the two leaders, died while the prophet was delivering God’s message (verse 13).
3. The promise of the return of the exiles and the renewal of hearts (verses 14–21)
   “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.” (verse 19)
   The Jews in Babylon are the remnant God would bring back, giving them a new heart.
4. God took Ezekiel by the Spirit and brought him in a vision to Babylon (verses 22–25)
   “The Spirit lifted me up and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God to the exiles in Babylonia. Then the vision I had seen went up from me.” (verse 24)

Knowing that God is just and punishes sin, but is also merciful, offering restoration to those who seek Him sincerely—let us seek Him, honor Him, and serve Him!
