Al 13-lea capitol din cartea Ezechiel conține un mesaj împotriva profeților falși și a femeilor care practicau vrăjitoria în Israel. Acești oameni înșelau poporul, promițându-le pace și siguranță, în timp ce judecata lui Dumnezeu era aproape de ei.

În timpul exilului babilonian, oamenii, fiind speriați, refuzau să creadă profețiile adevărate și deveneau vulnerabili învățăturilor și profețiilor mincinoase care le promiteau pace și liniște. Profetul Ezechiel este trimis de Dumnezeu să denunțe această înșelăciune venită de la diavolul: „Fiul omului, prorocește împotriva prorocilor lui Israel care prorocesc și spune celor ce prorocesc după gustul inimii lor: ‘Ascultați cuvântul Domnului!… Vedeniile lor sunt înșelătoare și prorociile lor, mincinoase. Ei zic: ‘Așa vorbește Domnul!’, măcar că Domnul nu i-a trimis, și fac pe oameni să tragă nădejde că se va împlini cuvântul lor.” (vers. 1, 6)

Versetele 1-9 condamnă profețiile mincinoase ale profeților falși, care încercau să liniștească în mod gratuit conștiința oamenilor. În felul acesta, poporul este indus în eroare și își construiește speranța pe o minciună (vers. 10-16): „Pentru că duc pe poporul Meu în rătăcire, zicând: «Pace!» când nu este pace, iată de ce, când poporul zidește un zid, iată că ei îl tencuiesc cu ipsos.” (Ezechiel 13:10)

Versetele 17-23 arată practicile vrăjitorești făcute de profetesele care dădeau speranțe false oamenilor. Profețiile false și practicile oculte aduc doar distrugere și minciună.

Să ne rugăm Domnului pentru proroci integri și conduși de Duhul Sfânt, pentru oameni care să aducă Cuvântul curat al lui Dumnezeu pentru popor.

Chapter 13 of the book of Ezekiel contains a message against false prophets and women who practiced witchcraft in Israel. These individuals deceived the people, promising them peace and safety while God's judgment was near.

During the Babylonian exile, the people, filled with fear, refused to believe the true prophecies and became vulnerable to the teachings and lies of false prophets who promised peace and calm. The prophet Ezekiel was sent by God to denounce this deception coming from the devil: “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: ‘Hear the word of the Lord!… Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. They say, ‘The Lord declares,’ when the Lord has not sent them; yet they expect their words to be fulfilled.” (verses 1, 6)

Verses 1–9 condemn the deceitful messages of the false prophets, who tried to falsely calm people’s consciences. In doing so, the people were led astray and built their hope on lies (verses 10–16): “Because they lead my people astray, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash.” (Ezekiel 13:10)

Verses 17–23 reveal the witchcraft practices carried out by prophetesses who gave false hopes to the people. False prophecies and occult practices bring only destruction and deceit.

Let us pray to the Lord for prophets who are upright and led by the Holy Spirit—people who will bring the pure Word of God to His people.
