Vineri, 7 iulie 2023, Deuteronom 33:1-29 – Binecuvântarea rostită de Moise

Este impresionant să vedem un om căruia i s-a refuzat intrarea în Canaan și totuși își găsește puterea să se roage și să binecuvânteze poporul care urma să intre în Canaan. Era obișnuit pentru un tată să-și binecuvânteze copiii înainte de moarte. Moise era într-un anumit sens tatăl Israelului, eliberatorul (uman al) evreilor, conducătorul lor și mijlocitorul Legământului Sinaitic. Asemenea unui tată, Moise a mijlocit deseori înaintea lui Dumnezeu să nu-i omoare pentru păcatele lor. Cu aproximativ 450 de ani în urmă, Iacov și-a binecuvântat fiii, strămoșii generației pe care Moise o binecuvânta acum (Geneza 49).

Asemenea cântării lui Moise, binecuvântarea lui are mai multe secțiuni:

1)         Moise Îl laudă pe Domnul (2-5). El descrie arătarea Domnului pe Sinai, atunci când i-a dat Legea pentru Israel. Pentru a fi un popor unit trebuia să aibă o constituție și o țară comună.

2)         Moise binecuvântează cele 12 seminții (6-25). Binecuvântarea lui Moise are caracter profetic și este specifică fiecărei seminții în funcție de ce urmau să facă înaintea Domnului.

3)         Moise Îl laudă din nou pe Domnul (26-29). El proclamă măreția și slava lui Dumnezeu, atotprezența și atotputernicia Sa.

Ne vom ruga mulțumindu-I lui Dumnezeu că ne-a suferit de-a lungul anilor cu toate slăbiciunile și alunecările noastre. Apoi vom cere Domnului să ne ajute în orice lucru ca, asemenea lui Moise, să începem și să încheiem cu Dumnezeu.

Friday, July 7, 2023: Deuteronomy 33:1-19 – Moses Blesses the Tribes

It is impressive to see a man who was denied entry into Canaan and yet finds the strength to pray and bless the people who were about to enter Canaan. It was customary for a father to bless his children before his death. Moses was in a sense the father of Israel, the human liberator of the Jews, their leader, and the mediator of the Sinaitic Covenant. Like a father, Moses often interceded before God for the people to not be killed for their sins. About 450 years prior, Jacob blessed his sons, the ancestors of the generation that Moses was now blessing (Genesis 49).

Like Moses’ song, his blessing has several sections:

1)    Moses praises the Lord (2-5). He describes the Lord’s appearance on Sinai when He gave the Law to Israel. To be a united people, they needed to have a common constitution and a common country.

2)    Moses blesses the 12 tribes (6-25). Moses’ blessing has a prophetic character and is specific to each tribe according to what they would each do before the Lord.

3)    Moses praises the Lord again (26-29). He proclaims the greatness and glory of God, His omnipresence and omnipotence.

We will pray, thanking God that He has sustained us over the years despite all our weaknesses and slip-ups. Then we will ask the Lord to help us in everything, so that like Moses, we may begin and end with God.
