Luni, 6 martie 2023, Exodul 12:1-36 – Sărbătorirea primului Paște

Dumnezeu a spus lui Moise și Aaron despre instaurarea sărbătorii Paștelor care a fost inaugurată în luna a șaptea a anului civil care începea în septembrie-octombrie. Luna Abib (luna aprilie) în care s-a sărbătorit Paștele a devenit prima lună a anului religios. După ce evreii au fost duși în captivitate, numele lunii Abib a fost schimbat în Nisan (Neemia 2:1; Estera 3:7). Acest nou calendar arată că evreii sunt poporul favorit al lui Dumnezeu, întărind în felul acesta identitatea lor națională. Părinții aveau obligația să-și învețe copiii care este semnificația acestei sărbători (Exod 12:26-27).

Conform Bibliei, sărbătoarea Paștelor a fost instituită în asociere cu plaga a zecea din a 14-a zi a lunii a șaptea. Fiecare familie trebuia să ia un miel de parte bărbătescă, fără defect fizic, și să-l înjunghie seara. Ca semn al protecției, stâlpii și pragul de sus al ușii trebuiau stropiți cu sângele mielului ucis pentru ca îngerul nimicitor care urma să ucidă întâiul născut din fiecare casă egipteană să protejeze copiii din familiile evreilor.

Sângele mielului ucis proteja viața primului născut din familiile poporului lui Dumnezeu. Acest principiu al înlocuirii este regăsit la Golgota, acolo unde Mielul lui Dumnezeu a murit pentru păcatele tuturor oamenilor. 

În această dimineață vom mulțumi pentru Mielul jertfit și ne vom ruga lui Dumnezeu să ne ajute să ieșim pentru totdeauna din starea de robie.

Monday, March 6, 2023: Exodus 12:1-36 – The Celebration of the First Passover

God told Moses and Aaron about the establishment of the Passover celebration, which was inaugurated in the seventh month of the civil year that began in September-October. The month of Abib (April) in which Passover was celebrated became the first month of the religious year. After the Jews were taken into captivity, the name of the month of Abib was changed to Nisan (Nehemiah 2:1; Esther 3:7). This new calendar shows that the Jews are God’s chosen people, reinforcing their national identity. Parents had the obligation to teach their children the significance of this holiday (Exodus 12:26-27).

According to the Bible, the Passover celebration was established in association with the tenth plague on the 14th day of the seventh month. Each family had to take a male lamb without physical defect and slaughter it in the evening. As a sign of protection, the doorposts and upper threshold of the door had to be sprinkled with the blood of the slain lamb so that the angel who was to kill the firstborn of each Egyptian household would spare the children of the Jewish families.

The blood of the slain lamb protected the life of the firstborn in the families of God’s people. This principle of substitution is found at Golgotha, where the Lamb of God died for the sins of all people.

This morning we will give thanks for the sacrificed Lamb and pray to God to help us to forever come out of our state of slavery.
