Duminică, 5 martie 2023, Exodul 11:1-10 – Amenințarea cu urgia a zecea

În urma celor trei seturi de urgii, Egiptul era îngrozit. Dumnezeu l-a încurajat pe Moise, spunându-i că Faraon va capitula și îi va lăsa să plece în timpul acestei ultime urgii. Localnicii erau atât de speriați, încât își doreau ca prizonierii evrei să plece din țară.

Toate cele 10 urgii au descalificat zeii Egiptului. Spre exemplu, în credința egiptenilor, zeița Isis, sora și soția lui Osiris, era zeița care proteja copiii. A zecea urgie care a lovit copiii egiptenilor a descalificat-o prin faptul că a fost incapabilă să protejeze copiii.

De ce a îngăduit Dumnezeu aceste urgii în Egipt? Egiptenii erau politeiști și se închinau la mulți idoli. Refuzând să se închine adevăratului Dumnezeu, au devenit obiectul judecății divine (Romani 1:18-23). Neștiința lui Faraon l-a condus la necredință, iar necredința s-a manifestat prin neascultare.

Acest episod pune în evidență suveranitatea lui Dumnezeu care are control asupra tuturor oamenilor. Păcatele egiptenilor au atras pedeapsa divină, în timp ce ascultarea de Dumnezeu a atras protecția și binecuvântarea.

În rugăciunea de dimineață vom mulțumi pentru cunoștința de Dumnezeu și pentru credința în El. Apoi ne vom ruga Lui să ne ajute să fim ascultători, credincioși și roditori.

Sunday, March 5, 2023: Exodus 11:1-10 – The Threat of the Tenth Parable

Following the three sets of plagues, Egypt was terrified. God encouraged Moses, telling him that Pharaoh would surrender and allow the Israelites to leave during this final plague. The locals were so frightened that they wanted the Jewish prisoners to leave the country.

All ten plagues discredited the gods of Egypt. For example, in the Egyptians’ belief, the goddess Isis, the sister and wife of Osiris, was the goddess who protected children. The tenth plague, which struck the children of the Egyptians, discredited her because she was unable to protect the children.

Why did God allow these plagues in Egypt? The Egyptians were polytheistic and worshipped many idols. By refusing to worship the true God, they became the object of divine judgment (Romans 1:18-23). Pharaoh’s ignorance led him to not believing, and not believing manifested itself in disobedience.

This episode highlights the sovereignty of God, who has control over all people. The sins of the Egyptians attracted divine punishment, while obedience to God attracted protection and blessing.

In this morning’s prayer, we will thank God for the knowledge of Him and for our faith in Him. Then we will pray to Him to help us be obedient, faithful, and fruitful.
