Ultimele trei capitole din cartea Deuteronom relatează instrucțiunile finale pe care Moise le-a adresat evreilor înainte ca aceștia să intre în Canaan. Mesajul cântării lui Moise servește atât ca avertisment împotriva neascultării, cât și ca o amintire a bunătății și credincioșiei lui Dumnezeu.

Cântarea este împărțita în mai multe secțiuni, fiecare abordând teme diferite legate de relația dintre Dumnezeu și Israel: (1) Introducere (32:1-3); (2) Laudă credincioșia și dreptatea lui Dumnezeu (Deuteronom 32:4-6); (3) Istoria lui Israel (Deuteronom 32:7-14); (4) Răzvrătirea lui Israel și judecata lui Dumnezeu (Deuteronom 32:15-25); (5) Dragostea și restaurarea lui Dumnezeu (Deuteronom 32:26-43); (6) Concluzie (Deuteronom 32:44-47).

Cântarea aceasta trebuia învățată de Israel și cântată în cadrul ceremoniei de înnoire a legământului (v. 19, 21). Scopul lui Dumnezeu cu judecarea Israelului nu este distrugerea lui, ci să-l facă să înțeleagă că El este singurul Dumnezeu adevărat. Cântarea lui Moise prezintă natura neschimbătoare a lui Dumnezeu și angajamentul Său față de Israel. Această înțelegere așteaptă reacția ascultării, încrederii și mulțumirii noastre.

Urmează să începem cu mulțumire rugăciunea din această dimineață, lăudându-L pe Dumnezeu pentru că a folosit metodele cele mai influente pentru a ne ajuta să înțelegem adevărul și voia Sa cu privire la noi. Continuând rugăciunea vom cere înțelepciunea să înțelegem diferența dintre  a ne lăsa convinși de dragostea lui Dumnezeu sau a capitula constrânși de puterea Sa.

Wednesday, July 5, 2023: Deuteronomy 31:30-32:43 – The Song of Moses

The last three chapters of the book of Deuteronomy report the final instructions that Moses addressed to the Jews before they entered Canaan. The message in Moses' song serves both as a warning against disobedience and as a reminder of God's kindness and faithfulness.

The song is divided into several sections, each addressing different themes related to the relationship between God and Israel: (1) Introduction (32:1-3); (2) Praises God's faithfulness and justice (Deuteronomy 32:4-6); (3) History of Israel (Deuteronomy 32:7-14); (4) Israel’s rebellion and God's judgment (Deuteronomy 32:15-25); (5) God's love and restoration (Deuteronomy 32:26-43); (6) Conclusion (Deuteronomy 32:44-47).

This song was to be learned by Israel and sung during the covenant renewal ceremony (v. 19, 21). God's purpose in judging Israel is not its destruction, but to make them understand that He is the only true God. The song of Moses presents the unchanging nature of God and His commitment to Israel. This understanding awaits our response in obedience, trust, and gratitude.

We are about to begin this morning's prayer with thanks, praising God for using the most influential methods to help us understand the truth and His will concerning us. Continuing our prayer, we will ask for wisdom to understand the difference between being convinced by God's love or surrendering constrained by His power.
