Joi, 5 ianuarie, citim Geneza 2:25-3:24 – Căderea omului în pacat

Neascultarea Evei și a lui Adam s-a constituit în pierderea inocenței lor, nemaiputând să fie vreodată ca înainte. Prin păcat, omul a ieșit din starea de pace cu Dumnezeu și a intrat în stare de vrăjmășie cu El. Starea de adversitate s-a manifestat în toate cele trei dimensiuni: Dumnezeu, familie și natură.

Dacă în capitolul 1 bărbatul și femeia sunt egali în demnitate, în capitolul 3 sunt egali în drepravare. Păcatul presupune prezența unei legi, a unei ispite, a unui ispititor, și alegerea ispititului de a ceda ispitei. Ispita nu este păcat, însă conduce la păcat, atunci când persoana ispitită cedează ispitei. Ispita acceptată conduce la păcat, iar ispita respinsă conduce la maturizare. Păcătuirea frecventă în același mod conduce la dependență, la robie spirituală.

Dumnezeu îl pedepsește întotdeauna pe păcătos din cauza păcatului făcut, însă îl iartă pe deplin datorită pocăinței față de păcat și a credinței față de Fiul lui Dumnezeu, Isus Cristos.

Din cauza păcatului nașterea de copii este plină de durere, munca este epuizantă, boala este plină de suferință, iar moartea este plină de groază. Prima promisiune mesianică are loc în capitolul 3 din Geneza, ca o manifestare iubitoare a lui Dumnezeu, creatorul omului. Atunci a fost promis Mesia, care urma să Se întrupeze din fecioară ,,la împlinirea vremii”.

În rugăciunea de astăzi vom mulțumi lui Dumnezeu pentru mântuirea și vindecarea prin Cristos. De asemenea, ne vom ruga lui Dumnezeu să ne dea puterea de a trăi în sfințenie, biruind ispita și împotrivindu-ne Diavolului tari în credință.

Thursday, January 5th: we are reading Genesis 2:25-3:24 – The Fall of Man

​Eve’s disobedience as well as Adam’s resulted in the loss of their innocence, and they could never be as they were before. Through sin, man left his state of peace with God and entered a state of enmity with Him. This state of adversity was now manifested in all three dimensions: God, family and nature.

​If in chapter 1 the man and woman are equal in dignity, in chapter 3 they are equal in depravity. Sin assumes the presence of a law, of a temptation, of a tempter, and the choice of the tempted to give in to the temptation. Temptation is not sin but may lead to sin when the tempted person yields to sin. Accepted temptation leads to sin, and rejected temptation leads to maturity. Repeated sin in the same way leads to addiction, to spiritual slavery.

​God always punishes the sinner because of committed sin but forgives him fully when he repents from sin and puts his faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

​Because of sin, birthing children is full of pain, working is exhausting, illness is full of suffering, and death is full of horror. The first Messianic promise comes in chapter 3 of Genesis as a loving manifestation of God, the creator of mankind. This is when the Messiah was promised, who would be incarnate from a virgin, “when the time had come”.

​In today’s prayer we will thank God for His salvation and healing through Christ. In addition, we will pray to the Lord to give us the power to live in holiness, overcoming temptation and resisting the Devil by being strong in our faith.
