Joi, 4 ianuarie 2024, 1 Cronici 28:1-21 – Instrucțiunile lui David cu privire la construirea Templului

David a strâns toți conducătorii țării menționați în capitolul 27 și le-a spus istoria intenției sale de a construi un Templu la Ierusalim pentru Dumnezeu. Domnul nu a acceptat dorința lui David: ,,Să nu zidești o casă Numelui Meu, căci ești un om de război și ai vărsat sânge” (v. 3). În același timp, Dumnezeu l-a ales pe Solomon să zidească Templul: ,,Fiul tău Solomon Îmi va zidi casa și curțile, căci L-am ales ca fiu al Meu; și-i voi fi Tată” (v. 6; 22:10). Regele a încheiat pledoaria cerând poporului (28:8) și lui Solomon (v. 9-10) să respecte legământul lui Dumnezeu și să lupte pentru țară.

Apoi, David i-a dat fiului său planurile pentru construirea Templului (v. 11-12), planuri pe care i le descoperise Dumnezeu (v. 19) și l-a încurajat să se încreadă în Domnul (v. 20).

Acest proiect s-a născut în inima lui David, de aceea Dumnezeu l-a învățat tot ce trebuie să facă pentru realizarea lui. Orice vis se naște în inima unui om și David a trăit pentru împlinirea acestui vis.   

Mulțumim lui Dumnezeu pentru că ne-a călăuzit până aici, atât în lucrul Lui, cât și în lucrul nostru, dându-ne cu generozitate ,,și voința și înfăptuirea” (Filipeni 2:13). Este impresionant modelul lui David de a-și direcționa fiul pentru realizarea marilor lucrări ale lui Dumnezeu. El a pregătit planul, a organizat resursele umane și a strâns resursele materiale. Apoi le-a pus în brațele fiului său. Solomon a intrat în istorie ca fiind omul care a construit celebrul Templu din Ierusalim, însă proiectul și resursele îi fuseseră date de tatăl lui. Ce dăm noi copiilor noștri? Ce le arătăm? Spre ce îi direcționăm? În ce fel contribuim ca ei să ajungă niște oameni care lucrează pentru Dumnezeu? Să cerem de la Domnul harul de a ne influența copiii să construiască pentru cer, să contribuie la lărgirea Împărăției cerurilor și în ziua de pe urmă să le fie pronunțate numele.

Thursday, January 4, 2024: 1 Chronicles 28:1-21 – David’s Instructions Regarding the Building of the Temple

David gathered all the leaders of the country mentioned in chapter 27 and told them the story of his intention to build a Temple in Jerusalem for God. The Lord did not accept David’s desire: “You shall not build a house for My Name, for you are a man of war and have shed blood” (v. 3). At the same time, God chose Solomon to build the Temple: “Your son Solomon will build My house and courts, for I have chosen him as My son, and I will be his Father” (v. 6; 22:10). The king concluded his plea by asking the people (28:8) and Solomon (v. 9-10) to respect God’s covenant and to fight for the country.

Then, David gave his son the plans for the construction of the Temple (v. 11-12), plans that God had revealed to him (v. 19), and encouraged him to trust in the Lord (v. 20).

This project was born in David’s heart, so God taught him everything he needed to do to realize it. Every dream is born in a person’s heart, and David lived to fulfill this dream.

We thank God for guiding us thus far, both in His work and in ours, generously giving us “both to will and to do” (Philippians 2:13). David’s model of directing his son to accomplish God’s great works is impressive. He prepared the plan, organized the human resources, and gathered the material resources. Then he put them in the hands of his son. Solomon entered history as the man who built the famous Temple in Jerusalem, but the project and resources had been given to him by his father. What do we give to our children? What do we show them?  What do we direct them towards? How do we contribute to them becoming people who work for God? Let’s ask the Lord for the grace to influence our children to build for heaven, to contribute to the expansion of the Kingdom of Heaven, and on the last day to have their names pronounced.
