În psalmul 94 întâlnim din nou uimirea celui neprihănit cu privire la succesul și aparentul triumf al omului păcătos.

,,Scoală-Te, Judecătorul pământului, şi răsplăteşte celor mândri după faptele lor! Până când vor birui cei răi, Doamne, până când vor birui cei răi? Ei ţin cuvântări puternice, vorbesc cu trufie şi toţi cei ce fac răul se fălesc. Ei zdrobesc pe poporul Tău, Doamne, şi asupresc moştenirea Ta. Înjunghie pe văduvă şi pe străin, ucid pe orfani şi zic: „Nu vede Domnul şi Dumnezeul lui Iacov nu ia aminte!” (vers. 2-7)

Ideea de bază a psalmului prezintă victoria finală a binelui asupra răului și bucuria de la sfârșit a celui neprihănit care a trăit în ascultare de Dumnezeul cel Preaînalt: ,,Totuşi învăţaţi-vă minte, oameni fără minte! Când vă veţi înţelepţi, nebunilor? Cel ce a sădit urechea s-ar putea să n-audă? Cel ce a întocmit ochiul s-ar putea să nu vadă?  Cel ce pedepseşte neamurile s-ar putea să nu pedepsească, El, care a dat omului pricepere?” (vers. 8-10)

Psalmul descrie natura atotputernică a lui Dumnezeu: de la controlul asupra marginilor pământului și a înălțimilor munților până la zidirea mării și a uscatului. Dumnezeu nu este doar Creatorul, ci și Păstorul și Protectorul poporului Său.

,,Ci se va face odată judecata după dreptate şi toţi cei cu inima curată o vor găsi bună. Cine mă va ajuta împotriva celor răi? Cine mă va sprijini împotriva celor ce fac răul? De n-ar fi Domnul ajutorul meu, cât de curând ar fi sufletul meu în tăcerea morţii!” (vers. 15-17)

Întrebarea ,,Până când, Doamne?” este la fel de veche ca neamul omenesc. Ea a fost repetată la nesfârșit de-a lungul istoriei de cel neprihănit în legătură cu nedreptatea din jurul lui.

Întârzierea intervenției divine ne pune la încercare încrederea în Dumnezeu și speranța cu privire la victoria binelui asupra răului din lume. Adevărul este că această întârziere a lui Dumnezeu de a-l amenda pe cel rău cultivă în inima omului bun răbdarea și speranța.

Unii cad la acest examen și renunță la Dumnezeu, pe care-L consideră indiferent față de suferința umană. Alții, dimpotrivă, își cultivă încrederea și răbdarea, așteptând cu speranță ziua hotărâtă de Dumnezeu pentru izbăvire.

,,Şi Dumnezeu nu va face dreptate aleşilor Lui, care strigă zi şi noapte către El, măcar că zăboveşte faţă de ei? Vă spun că le va face dreptate în curând. Dar când va veni Fiul omului, va găsi El credinţă pe pământ?” (Luca 18:7-8)

Atunci când ne este pusă la încercare credința și răbdarea, să ne amintim de promisiunile lui Dumnezeu și să privim la sfârșitul celui rău. Judecata lui Dumnezeu va pedepsi orice rău și va răsplăti orice bine.

Să ne rugăm Domnului să ne mărească credința și să ne îmbrace cu răbdare, milă și multă bunătate!

In Psalm 94, we once again encounter the amazement of the righteous at the success and apparent triumph of the sinful man.

“Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve. How long will the wicked, O Lord, how long will the wicked be jubilant? They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting. They crush your people, Lord; they oppress your inheritance. They slay the widow and the foreigner; they murder the fatherless. They say, ‘The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob takes no notice.’” (verses 2-7)

The main idea of the psalm presents the ultimate victory of good over evil and the final joy of the righteous who have lived in obedience to the Most High God: “Take notice, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise? Does he who fashioned the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see? Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?” (verses 8-10)

The psalm describes the all-powerful nature of God: from controlling the ends of the earth and the heights of the mountains to creating the sea and the dry land. God is not only the Creator but also the Shepherd and Protector of His people.

“Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it. Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers? Unless the Lord had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.” (verses 15-17)

The question “How long, Lord?” is as old as humanity itself. It has been endlessly repeated throughout history by the righteous concerning the injustice around them.

The delay of divine intervention tests our trust in God and our hope for the victory of good over evil in the world. The truth is that God’s delay to punish the wicked cultivates patience and hope in the heart of the good man.

Some fail this test and turn away from God, whom they see as indifferent to human suffering. Others, on the contrary, cultivate their trust and patience, waiting with hope for the day appointed by God for deliverance.

“And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:7-8)

When our faith and patience are tested, let us remember God's promises and look forward to the end of the wicked. God's judgment will punish every evil and reward every good.

Let us pray to the Lord to increase our faith and clothe us with patience, mercy, and great kindness!
