Luni, 30 decembrie 2024, Isaia 43:1-28

Capitolele 43 și 44 surprind apropierea sfârșitului robiei Israelienilor în Babilon: ,,Acum, așa vorbește Domnul, care te-a făcut, Iacove, și Cel ce te-a întocmit, Israele: „Nu te teme de nimic, căci† Eu te izbăvesc, te chem pe nume: ești al Meu. Dacă vei trece prin ape, Eu voi fi cu tine și râurile nu te vor îneca; dacă vei merge prin foc, nu te va arde și flacăra nu te va aprinde. Căci Eu sunt Domnul Dumnezeul tău, Sfântul lui Israel, Mântuitorul tău! Eu dau Egiptul ca preț pentru răscumpărarea ta, Etiopia și Saba în locul tău. De aceea, pentru că ai preț în ochii Mei, pentru că ești prețuit și te iubesc, dau oameni pentru tine și popoare pentru viața ta. Nu te teme de nimic, căci Eu sunt cu tine, Eu voi aduce înapoi neamul tău de la răsărit și te voi strânge de la apus. Voi zice miazănoaptei: ‘Dă încoace!’ și miazăzilei: ‘Nu opri, ci adu-Mi fiii din țările depărtate și fiicele de la marginile pământului: pe toți cei ce poartă Numele Meu și pe care i-am făcut spre slava Mea, pe care i-am întocmit și i-am alcătuit.” (vers. 1-7)

Această eliberare fizică va transmite lumii mesajul că Domnul este singurul Dumnezeu adevărat (vers. 8-13).

Mai mult, Dumnezeu promite și eliberarea spirituală pe care o va aduce Mesia, ,,Robul Domnului” (vers. 14-28): ,,Eu, Eu îți șterg fărădelegile, pentru Mine, și nu-Mi voi mai aduce aminte de păcatele tale.” (vers. 25)

Dumnezeu îl încurajează de trei ori pe Israel în capitolul 43 să nu se teamă: „Nu te teme de nimic, căci Eu sunt cu tine…” (vers. 5).

Deși Dumnezeu va ierta Israelul, îi cheamă totuși să-l disciplineze.

Luând lecția aceasta de viață, conștientizăm faptul că sfințirea este obiectivul principal al lui Dumnezeu. Să ne rugăm pentru o sfințire deplină.

Chapters 43 and 44 capture the nearing end of Israel's captivity in Babylon: “But now, this is what the Lord says—He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel: ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in My sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back. Bring My sons from afar and My daughters from the ends of the earth—everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made.’” (vv. 1-7)

This physical deliverance would send a message to the world that the Lord is the one true God (vv. 8-13).

Moreover, God promises spiritual deliverance to be brought by the Messiah, “the Servant of the Lord” (vv. 14-28): “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for My own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” (v. 25)

God encourages Israel three times in chapter 43 not to be afraid: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you…” (v. 5).

Though God will forgive Israel, He still calls them to discipline themselves.

Taking this life lesson to heart, we realize that sanctification is God’s primary objective. Let us pray for complete sanctification.
