Joi, 29 iunie 2023, Deuteronom 26:1-19 – Cele dintâi roade, zeciuielile din anul al treilea și ascultarea de Domnul

Dumnezeu a vorbit poporului și le-a cerut să împlinească două ritualuri după ce vor intra în țară și se vor așeza la casele lor:

1)         aducerea primelor roade, primele produse ale recoltei (2-11);

2)         zeciuiala din anul al treilea să fie dată Levitului, străinului, orfanului și văduvei (12-15).

Revenind la primul ritual, persoana care aducea primele roade trebuia să facă o declarație: ,,Mărturisesc astăzi înaintea Domnului, Dumnezeului tău, că am intrat în țara pe care Domnul a jurat părinților noștri că ne-o va da” (v. 3). Închinătorul mărturisea credincioșia lui Dumnezeu și scotea în evidență protecției Sa față de Israel.

Al doilea ritual avea loc în timpul aducerii zeciuielii, când trebuia să proclame: ,,Am scos din casa mea ce este sfințit, și l-am dat levitului, străinului, orfanului, văduvei, după toate poruncile pe care mi le-ai dai Tu” (v. 13). Dumnezeu cere poporului să-și asume angajamentul făcut.

Fiind timpul rugăciunii, vom mulțumi lui Dumnezeu pentru mântuirea prin Domnul Isus. Apoi, vom continua rugăciunea, cerând înțelepciune, putere și călăuzire.

Thursday, June 29, 2023: Deuteronomy 26:1-19 – The First Fruits, the Tithes of the Third Year, and Obedience to the Lord

God spoke to the people and asked them to fulfill two rituals after they entered the land and settled in their homes:

1)         bringing the first fruits, the first products of the harvest (2-11);

2)         the tithe of the third year was to be given to the Levite, the stranger, the orphan, and the widow (12-15).

For the first ritual, the person bringing the first fruits had to make a declaration: “I declare today before the Lord, your God, that I have entered the land that the Lord swore to our fathers that he will give us” (v. 3). The worshipper testified to God's faithfulness and highlighted His protection over Israel.

The second ritual took place during the bringing of the tithe, when he had to proclaim: “I have removed from my house what is sacred, and I gave it to the Levite, the stranger, the orphan, the widow, according to all the commandments that you have given me” (v. 13). God asked the people to take on the commitment they made.

Since it is prayer time, we will thank God for salvation through the Lord Jesus. Then, we will continue our prayer, asking for wisdom, strength, and guidance.
