Sâmbătă, 29 iulie 2023: Iosua 21:1-45 – Stabilirea cetăților leviților

Aceasta este ultima etapă a repartizării teritoriilor. Reprezentanții seminției lui Levi au cerut conducătorilor cetățile de locuit promise de Moise (Numeri 35:1-8). Aceste 48 de cetăți și cele 6 cetăți de scăpare au fost repartizate Leviților. Aceste 54 de cetăți au fost repartizate celor trei ramuri ale semințiilor lui Levi, după cei trei fii ai lui Levi. Douăzeci și trei de cetăți sunt reprezentatele chehatiților. 13 din aceste cetăți au fost ale preoților. Hebronul și Sihemul au fost cetățile de scăpare. Treisprezece cetăți au fost repartizate Ghersniților. Cetățile de scăpare au fost Golan din Basan și Chedeș din Galileea. Treisprezece cetăți au fost repartizate merariților. Cetățile de scăpare au fost în Ramotul din Galaad. Deci 10 dintre cele 48 de cetăți levite se aflau în estul Iordanului; 2 în jumătatea seminției lui Manase; câte 4 în Ruben și Gad.

,,Astfel, Domnul a dat lui Israel toată țara pe care o jurase că o va da părinților lor; ei au luat-o în stăpânire și s-au așezat în ea. Din toate vorbele bune pe care le spusese casei lui Israel Domnul, nici una n-a rămas neîmplinită, toate s-au împlinit” (43, 45). Credincioșia lui Dumnezeu este desăvârșită! Vom mulțumi lui Dumnezeu în această dimineață pentru credincioșia Sa.

Saturday, July 29, 2023: Joshua 21:1-45 – Establishing the Cities of the Levites

This is the last stage of the territory allocation. Representatives of the tribe of Levi asked the leaders for the dwelling cities promised by Moses (Numbers 35:1-8). These 48 cities and the 6 cities of refuge were assigned to the Levites. These 54 cities were distributed to the three branches of the tribe of Levi, according to Levi's three sons. Twenty-three cities represented the Kohathites. Thirteen of these cities belonged to the priests. Hebron and Shechem were cities of refuge. Thirteen cities were allocated to the Gershonites. The cities of refuge were Golan in Bashan and Kadesh in Galilee. Thirteen cities were allocated to the Merarites. The cities of refuge were in Ramoth of Gilead. So, 10 of the 48 Levitical cities were located east of the Jordan; 2 in the half tribe of Manasseh; 4 each in Reuben and Gad.

“So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there. Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled” (43, 45). God's faithfulness is perfect! We will thank God this morning for His faithfulness.
