Marți, 28 martie 2023, Exodul 34:1-35 – Înnoirea Legământului

Dumnezeu i-a dat din nou lui Moise noi table de piatră cu cele Zece Porunci. În această a doua urcare pe munte, Moise primește viziunea gloriei divine: compasiune, loialitate, har, dragoste și dreptate. Ca o reacție la cele văzute și auzite, Moise se închină, cerând îndurare pentru poporul vinovat. Semnul preoției este mijlocirea, iar semnul maturității este iertarea.

Pentru că Dumnezeu este singurul Dumnezeu adevărat, El nu tolerează niciun rival. Idolatria stârnește gelozia lui Dumnezeu. Altarele idolești erau semnul infidelității față de Dumnezeu. După ce a explicat forma de închinare idolatră pe care trebuiau să o evite, Dumnezeu descrie sărbătorile în cadrul cărora ei trebuiau să se închine Domnului: (1) Sărbătoarea azimilor, (2) Sărbătoarea Săptămânilor (Cincizecimii) și (3) Sărbătoarea strângerii roadelor. Bărbații erau obligați să participe peste an la aceste trei sărbători importante.

Când a coborât de pe munte, gloria strălucea pe fața lui Moise. La prima coborâre, Moise a fost mânios din cauza idolatriei promovate de Aaron. Păcatul este marele dușman al omului, provocându-I amărăciune și mâniindu-L pe Dumnezeu. Marea bucurie a lui Dumnezeu este sfințirea oamenilor, de aceea a fost nevoie ca Fiul lui Dumnezeu să vină pe pământ prin fecioară, în rolul de Mesia.

Ne vom închina Domnului, mulțumindu-I pentru justificarea prin Cristos. Apoi ne vom ruga pentru puterea de a ne sfinți viața în mod deplin. Atunci ne vor străluci fețele!

Tuesday, March 28, 2023: Exodus 34:1-35 – The Renewing of the Covenant

God gave Moses new stone tablets with the Ten Commandments once again. In this second climb up the mountain, Moses receives a vision of divine glory: compassion, faithfulness, grace, love, and justice. In response to what he sees and hears, Moses bows down, asking for mercy for the guilty people. The sign of priesthood is mediation, and the sign of maturity is forgiveness.

Because God is the only true God, He does not tolerate any rivals. Idolatry provokes God's jealousy. Idolatrous altars were a sign of unfaithfulness to God. After explaining the form of idolatrous worship that they were to avoid, God describes the festivals during which they were to worship the Lord: (1) the Festival of Unleavened Bread, (2) the Festival of Weeks (Pentecost), and (3) the Festival of Ingathering. Men were required to participate in these three important festivals each year.

When he came down from the mountain, the glory shone on Moses' face. The first time he had descended from the mountain, Moses was angry because of Aaron's promotion of idolatry. Sin is man's great enemy, bringing bitterness and anger to God. God's great joy is the sanctification of people, which is why it was necessary for the Son of God to come to earth through a virgin, in the role of Messiah.

We will worship the Lord, thanking Him for justification through Christ. We will also pray for the power to fully sanctify our lives. Then our faces will shine!
