Marți, 28 februarie 2023, Exodul 6:2-30 – Moise – între Dumnezeu și popor

Poporul și-a pierdut încrederea în Moise. Moise a fost ispitit să-și piarda încrederea în Dumnezeu. El a fost foarte dezamăgit pentru că soluția lui Dumnezeu părea un mare eșec.

,,De ce m-ai trimis?” îl întreabă Moise pe Dumnezeu. Cu sufletul apăsat, el continuă să întrebe: ,,De ce nu ai scăpat pe poporul Tău?” Celebra întrebare continuă să manifeste neîncredere în Dumnezeu: ,,De ce? De ce? De ce?”.

Răspunsul lui Dumnezeu este același: ,,Vă voi izbăvi, vă voi scăpa!” (v. 6-7) De șapte ori Dumnezeu spune: ,,vă voi…”. Din nou, soluția este în viitor. De ce nu în prezent? De ce nu acum?

Dumnezeu Își dorește mai mult să ne maturizeze decât să ne ajute ACUM. El dorește mai mult să ne dezvolte încrederea în El decât să ne rezolve problema ACUM. El dorește să elimine oportunismul din inima noastră. Amânarea rezolvării problemei este un exercițiu de încredere, răbdare și ascultare. Deseori Dumnezeu folosește soluția aceasta pentru a ne dezvolta credința și dependența de El. Noi trebuie să ne uităm la Dumnezeu, nu la reacțiile oamenilor. Noi trebuie să ne încredem în Dumnezeu, nu în rezultate imediate. Uneori rezultatele întârzie pentru a ne dezvolta încrederea și speranța în Dumnezeu.

Dezamăgirea lui Moise a fost vindecată de prezentarea caracterului și scopului lui Dumnezeu.

Ceea ce este surprinzător este faptul că El îl trimite din nou pe Moise la Faraon. Având încă gustul amar al eșecului în suflet, Moise ezită, însă Dumnezeu insistă. Acest Moise trebuia instruit. El trebuia să devină un lider. El trebuia să învețe lecția încrederii în Dumnezeu, nu lecția rezultatelor imediate. Dezvoltarea încrederii în Dumnezeu este mai importantă decât dobândirea lucrurilor așteptate/cerute.

Vom începe timpul devoțional de dimineață mulțumindu-I lui Dumnezeu că ne iubește mai mult pe noi decât împlinirea așteptărilor noastre. Apoi ne vom ruga Domnului să ne maturizeze credința și încrederea în El. În felul acesta vom fi statornici, consecvenți și puternici în credință.

Tuesday, February 28, 2023: Exodus 6:2-30 – Moses – Between God and People

The people had lost their trust in Moses. Moses was tempted to lose his trust in God. He was very disappointed because God’s solution seemed like a big failure.

“Why did you send me?” Moses asked God. With a heavy heart, he continued to ask, “Why didn’t you save your people?” The infamous question continues to express distrust in God: “Why? Why? Why?“

God’s response is the same: “I will deliver you; I will rescue you!” (v. 6-7) Seven times God says, “I will…”. Again, the solution is in the future. Why not in the present? Why not now?

God wants to mature us more than He wants to help us NOW. He wants us to develop our trust in Him more than He wants to solve our problem NOW. He wants to eliminate opportunism from our hearts. Delaying the resolution of the problem is an exercise in trust, patience, and obedience. God often uses this solution to develop our faith and dependence on Him. We must look to God, not to people’s reactions. We must trust in God, not in immediate results. Sometimes results are delayed so that we may trust and hope in God.

Moses’ disappointment was healed by the presentation of God’s character and purpose.

What is surprising is that He sends Moses to Pharaoh again. With the bitter taste of failure still in his heart, Moses hesitates, but God insists. This Moses needed to be trained. He needed to become a leader. He needed to learn the lesson of trust in God, not the lesson of immediate results. Developing trust in God is more important than acquiring expected/demanded things.

We will begin our morning devotion time by thanking God that He loves us more than our expectations. Then we will pray to the Lord to mature our faith and trust in Him. In this way, we will be steadfast, consistent, and strong in faith.
