Marți, 26 septembrie 2023, 1 Samuel 30:1-31 – David se întoarce la Țiglag

David a primit Țiclagul de la Achis și s-a așezat acolo cu soțiile și armata sa compusă din 600 de bărbați. Domnitorii filistenilor au pornit la război și Achiș l-a luat pe David și oamenii lui să lupte împotriva evreilor. În absența lui David de la Țiclag, amaleciții au ars cetatea și locuitorii au fost luați prizonieri.

Neștiind ce să facă, David i-a cerut preotului Abiatar efodul pentru a întreba pe Domnul și după ce a primit confirmarea, a pornit cu cei 600 de oameni în urmărirea Amaleciților. Două sute de bărbați erau epuizați și s-au oprit la pârâul Besor. Acolo au întâlnit un tânăr egiptean care l-a ajutat pe David și pe cei 400 de bărbați înarmați să găsească armata amalecită și s-o învingă până la ultimul soldat. Au luat pradă de război, prizonierii luați de amaleciți, și s-au întors biruitori la Țiclag. Ajungând aici, David a împărțit prada cu bătrânii lui Iuda, cu cei din Betel, Ramot și cu multe alte cetăți.

Fiind înaintea Domnului în această dimineață, vom mulțumi pentru că ne protejează membrii familiei: soția și copiii. Apoi vom cere de la Dumnezeu harul de a împărți cu toți frații darurile de război. Chiar dacă unii din popor au propus să se împartă prada doar cu cei 400 care au mers la luptă, nu și cu cei 200 care s-au odihnit la pârâu, David a împărțit prada de război cu bătrânii tuturor grupurilor etnice din zonă.

Tuesday, September 26, 2023: 1 Samuel 30:1-31 – David Returns to Ziklag

David received Ziklag from Achish and settled there with his wives and his army of 600 men. The Philistine rulers went to war, and Achish took David and his men to fight against the Jews. In David's absence from Ziklag, the Amalekites burned the city, and its inhabitants were taken captive.

Unsure of what to do, David asked the priest Abiathar for the ephod to inquire of the Lord. After receiving confirmation, he set out with the 600 men in pursuit of the Amalekites. Two hundred men were exhausted and stopped at the Besor Valley. There they met a young Egyptian who helped David and the 400 armed men locate and defeat the Amalekite army, down to the last soldier. They took the plunder, the captives taken by the Amalekites, and returned victoriously to Ziklag. Once there, David divided the plunder with the elders of Judah, those in Bethel, Ramoth, and many other cities.

As we go before the Lord this morning, we will give thanks for protecting our family members: our wives and children. Then we will ask God for the grace to share the war plunder with all brothers. Even though some of the people proposed dividing the spoils only with the 400 who went to battle, not with the 200 who rested by the brook, David shared the spoils with the elders of all ethnic groups in the area.
