Joi, 25 mai 2023, Numeri 26:1-65 – Numărătoarea celor 11 seminții

Dumnezeu a poruncit lui Moise să facă recensământul bărbaților cu vârsta de peste 20 de ani, fiindcă cea mai mare parte a poporului care ieșise din Egipt murise în pustie. Era necesar la intrarea în Canaan să se știe câți bărbați pot purta armele în vederea pregătirilor militare care urmau să aibă loc.

Numărul bărbaților care au fost numărați era de 601.730 (v. 51). Metoda folosită pentru alegerea locului fiecărei seminții a fost sorțul, probabil Urim și Tumin. Leviții, neavând moștenire ca celelalte seminții datorită consacrării lor în slujba Domnului, nu au fost cuprinși. Dintre evreii care au participat la prima numărătoare a poporului din pustia Sinai mai erau doi oameni: Iosua și Caleb.

Începe o nouă zi și primul lucru pe care-l vom face este să mulțumim Domnului pentru poporul Său. Apoi ne vom ruga lui Dumnezeu să ne transforme în bărbați puternici, responsabili și harnici.

Thursday, May 25, 2023: Numbers 26:1-65 – The Census of the 11 Tribes

God commanded Moses to take a census of the men over 20 years old because most of the people who had left Egypt had died in the wilderness. It was necessary, upon entering Canaan, to know how many men were able to bear arms in preparation for the upcoming military campaigns.

The number of men counted was 601,730 (v. 51). The method used to determine the location of each tribe was likely the casting of lots, possibly using Urim and Thummim. The Levites, who did not receive a portion of land like the other tribes due to their consecration to the service of the Lord, were not included. From the Israelites who participated in the first census of the people in the Sinai wilderness, only two remained: Joshua and Caleb.

A new day begins, and the first thing we will do is thank the Lord for His people. Then we will pray to God, asking Him to transform us into strong, responsible, and hard-working men.
