Duminică, 25 februarie 2024, Neemia 3:1-32 – Reconstrucția zidurilor Ierusalimului

Cu aproximativ 152 de ani înainte să ajungă Neemia la Ierusalim, regele Nebucadnețar a distrus Templul Domnului, a dărâmat zidurile și a ars porțile orașului.

Procesul reconstruirii zidurilor, a celor zece porți și patru turnuri relatat în capitolul de față. Construcția a început în jurul anului 444 î. Cr., la aproximativ 90 de ani de la începutul reîntoarcerii descrise în Ezra capitolul 1. Între Ezra capitolul 3 versetul 10 și Ezra capitolul 6 versetul 15 sunt aproximativ 20 de ani, deoarece în procesul reconstrucției Templului a intervenit o perioadă lungă de întrerupere a lucrărilor. Între capitolele 6 și 7 este de asemenea o perioadă lungă de timp în care lucrările au încetat.

Marele Preot Eliasib (13:4) era nepotul lui Iosua (12:10) marele preot din timpul lui Zorobabel (Ezra 3:2). Eliasib și ceilalți preoți au reparat și au sfințit Poarta Oilor.

Poarta Văii a fost locul unde Neemia a început și a încheiat inspecția zidurilor (v. 2, 3, 15). Rând pe rând au fost reperate toate celelalte porți: Poarta Peștilor, Poarta cea Veche, Poarta lui Efraim, Poarta Văii, Poarta Gunoiului, Poarta Izvorului, Poarta Cailor.

Urmează să ne rugăm și vom cere Domnului putere în lucrarea de zidire – zidirea Casei lui Dumnezeu, zidirea Trupului lui Cristos, zidirea familiei, zidirea unui caracter integru. Toate aceste ziduri vor deveni simbolul unei misiuni încheiate și, de asemenea, vor aduce slavă lui Dumnezeu între oameni.

Sunday, February 25, 2024: Nehemiah 3:1-32 – The Reconstruction of Jerusalem's Walls

About 152 years before Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem, King Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the Temple of the Lord, demolished its walls, and burned the city's gates.

This chapter describes the process of rebuilding the walls, the ten gates, and four towers. The construction began around the year 444 BC, about 90 years after the start of the return described in Ezra chapter 1. There are about 20 years between Ezra chapter 3 verse 10 and Ezra chapter 6 verse 15, as there was a long interruption in the reconstruction of the Temple. There is also a long period between chapters 6 and 7 during which the work ceased.

The High Priest Eliashib (13:4) was the grandson of Joshua (12:10), the high priest during the time of Zerubbabel (Ezra 3:2). Eliashib and the other priests repaired and consecrated the Sheep Gate.

The Valley Gate was the place where Nehemiah began and concluded his inspection of the walls (v. 2, 3, 15). One by one, all the other gates were repaired: the Fish Gate, the Old Gate, the Gate of Ephraim, the Valley Gate, the Dung Gate, the Fountain Gate, the Horse Gate.

We will pray and ask the Lord for strength in the work of building – building the House of God, building the Body of Christ, building the family, building a character of integrity. All these walls will become the symbol of a completed mission and will also bring glory to God among people.
