Joi, 25 aprilie 2024, Iov 40:1-24 – A treia parte a discursului lui Dumnezeu, răspunsul lui Iov și al doilea discurs al lui Dumnezeu.

În primele două versete din capitolul de față, Dumnezeu l-a mustrat pe Iov și i-a cerut socoteală pentru îndrăzneala lui. Iov s-a căit, a tăcut și a simțit că nu se poate apăra în fața Domnului: ,,Îmi pun mâna la gură” (vers. 4-5).

Dumnezeu a vorbit din nou din mijlocul furtunii (vers. 6-14), cerându-i lui Iov să-I răspundă la întrebări: ,,Mă osândești ca să-mi scoți dreptatea?”  

Iov a vorbit de sine ca fiind nevinovat, însă nevinovăția lui era în mod indirect o incriminare a lui Dumnezeu. A te împotrivi lui Dumnezeu înseamnă a-ți asuma egalitatea cu Dumnezeu. A-L defăima pe Dumnezeu se constituie într-o uzurpare a Celui Preaînalt.

Dintre toate animalele pe care le-a menționat Dumnezeu, hipopotamul este cel mai mare (vers. 15-24). Hipopotamul este animalul cel mai mare animal cunoscut în Orientul Apropiat antic. El poate cântări până la aproape patru tone.

Prezentarea diversității și mărimii acestor animale care fac parte din creație vorbește despre suveranitatea, creativitatea și puterea infinită a lui Dumnezeu.

Același Dumnezeu este prezent astăzi în viața noastră. El ne ascultă rugăciunile, ne vindecă și ne mântuiește. Să ne rugăm împreună, cerând Domnului să ne mărească credința pentru a rămâne credincioși până la sfârșit.

Thursday, April 25, 2024, Job 40:1-24 – The Third Part of God's Discourse, Job's Response, and God's Second Speech

In the first two verses of this chapter, God rebuked Job and demanded an account for his audacity. Job repented, remained silent, and felt that he could not defend himself before the Lord: “I put my hand over my mouth” (verses 4-5).

God spoke again from the midst of the storm (verses 6-14), asking Job to answer His questions: “Do you condemn Me to justify yourself?”

Job spoke of himself as innocent, but his innocence indirectly implicated God. To oppose God is to assume equality with God. To defame God is to usurp the Most High.

Among all the animals mentioned by God, the hippopotamus is the largest (verses 15-24). The hippopotamus is the largest known animal in the ancient Near East. It can weigh up to nearly four tons.

The presentation of the diversity and size of these creatures that are part of creation speaks of God’s sovereignty, creativity, and infinite power. The same God is present in our lives today. He listens to our prayers, heals us, and saves us.

Let us pray together, asking the Lord to increase our faith so that we remain faithful until the end.
