Marți, 24 ianuarie 2023, Geneza 22:1-24 – Un berbec a murit în locul unui om

După ce a așteptat 25 de ani să primească copilul promis, probabil în jurul vârstei de 15-20 de ani, Avraam primește porunca de la Dumnezeu să-l sacrifice pe Isaac pe muntele Moria. Scriptura remarcă faptul că Avraam credea în inima lui că Dumnezeu îl va învia din morți.

În urma experienței de pe muntele Moria, Dumnezeu spune următoarele cuvinte: „…știu acum că te temi de Dumnezeu, întrucât n-ai cruțat pe fiul tău, pe singurul tău fiu, pentru Mine.” (Gen. 22:12). Aceasta a fost o cerere șocantă, pentru că Isaac era fiul făgăduinței, însă Avraam a răspuns cu o ascultare totală.

Atunci când ascultăm așa cum a făcut Avraam, având încredere că planul lui Dumnezeu este cel mai bun cu putință, noi înălțăm numele Domnului și Îl lăudăm. Ascultarea lui Avraam în fața acestei porunci cumplite a preamărit dragostea suverană a lui Dumnezeu, faptul că este vrednic de încredere şi plin de bunătate. Ascultarea sa ne-a oferit un exemplu de urmat. Credința lui Avraam în Dumnezeul pe care ajunsese să-L cunoască și să-L iubească l-a așezat pe în panteonul eroilor credinței din Evrei 11. Dumnezeu a folosit credința lui Avraam ca exemplu pentru toți cei care urmează după el, ca fiind singurul mijloc de mântuire. Geneza 15:6 spune: „Avram L-a crezut pe Domnul, şi Domnul i-a socotit lucrul acesta ca neprihănire.” Acest adevăr este temelia credinței creștine.

În această dimineață Îi mulțumim lui Dumnezeu pentru Mântuitorul Isus Cristos care ne-a înlocuit în moarte. Apoi ne vom ruga pentru a face cinste Domnului și pentru a contribui în mod responsabil la lărgirea Împărăției Sale!

Tuesday, January 24, 2023: Genesis 22:1-24 – A Ram Died in the Place of a Man

            After he waited 25 years for the promised child, when the child was likely around 15-20 years old, Abraham received the command from God to sacrifice Isaac on Mount Moriah. Scripture remarks the fact that Abraham believed in his heart that God would resurrect him from the dead.

            After the experience on Mount Moriah, God says the following words: “…Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son” (Genesis 22:12). This was a shocking request, because Isaac was the promised son, but Abraham responded with total obedience.

            When we obey like Abraham, trusting that God’s plan is the best possible one, we lift the Lord’s name and praise Him. Abraham’s obedience toward this seemingly terrible command magnified the sovereign love of God, the fact that He is trustworthy, and filled with goodness. His obedience has offered us an example to be followed. Abraham’s trust in the God he had gotten to know and love put him in the pantheon of heroes of the faith listed in Hebrews 11. God used Abraham’s faith as an example for all who would follow after him as the only means of salvation. Genesis 15:6 says, “Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness”. This truth is the foundation of Christian faith.

            This morning we will thank God for the Savior Jesus Christ who took our place in death. Then we will pray for help to honor the Lord and contribute responsibly to the expansion of His kingdom!
