Duminică, 24 decembrie 2023, 1 Cronici 17:1-27 – Dorința lui David de a zidi un Templu pentru Dumnezeu

După ce David a terminat de construit palatul și s-a mutat în el, a realizat că el are o casă mare, frumoasă și durabilă, în timp ce chivotul Domnului este într-un cort provizoriu. Aceasta este funcția conștiinței, este definiția conștiinței. Omul care se gândește la Dumnezeu, la onoarea și măreția Sa. Ce frumoși și rari sunt astfel de oameni!

David a împărtășit cu Natan, care îi era prieten, intenția de a construi un Templu pentru Dumnezeu, iar profetul l-a încurajat (v. 2). După ce Natan a plecat, Dumnezeu i S-a arătat și i-a spus că David nu poate construi Templul, însă fiul său, Solomon, va face această lucrare (v. 10, 25, 27). De asemenea, Dumnezeu i-a transmis lui David prin Natan că El îi va construi o casă (dinastie).

David a fost unul dintre oamenii care au avut multă, multă trecere înaintea Domnului. De fapt, Scriptura menționează că cei trei regi care au fost după inima lui Dumnezeu au fost David, Ezechia și Iosia, dar David a fost cel mai bun: ,,Căci Eu voi ocroti cetatea aceasta ca s-o mântuiesc, din pricina Mea şi din pricina robului Meu David” (2 Regi 20:6). ,,Voi mai adăuga cincisprezece ani la zilele tale. Te voi izbăvi, pe tine şi cetatea aceasta, din mâna împăratului Asiriei şi voi ocroti cetatea aceasta din pricina Mea şi din pricina robului Meu David” (1 Cronici 14 :2)

Tot la fel, Dumnezeu spune că cei mai răi trei regi pe care i-a avut regatul de Nord au fost Ieroboam, Ahab și Manase: ,,…din pricina păcatelor pe care le făcuse Ieroboam şi în care târâse şi pe Israel, mâniind astfel pe Domnul Dumnezeul lui Israel” (1 Regi 15:30). Asemenea lor, fiecare om va avea un profil înaintea lui Dumnezeu, ca al lui David sau ca al lui Ieroboam. Să folosim harul de care ne-a făcut Dumnezeu parte și să acceptăm cu perseverență și responsabilitate sfințenia, care este pentru noi, și slujirea, care este pentru ,,aproapele”.

Sunday, December 24, 2023: 1 Chronicles 17:1-27 – David's Desire to Build a Temple for God

After David had finished building his palace and moved into it, he realized that he had a large, beautiful, and durable house, while the Ark of the Lord was in a temporary tent. This is the function of conscience, the definition of conscience. A man who thinks of God, His honor, and His greatness. How beautiful and rare are such people!

David shared with his friend Nathan his intention to build a Temple for God, and the prophet encouraged him (v. 2). After Nathan left, God appeared to him and told him that David could not build the Temple, but his son, Solomon, would do this work (v. 10, 25, 27). God also conveyed to David through Nathan that He would build a house (dynasty) for him.

David was one of the people who had much favor in the sight of the Lord. In fact, Scripture mentions that the three kings who were after God's own heart were David, Hezekiah, and Josiah, but David was the best: “For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David” (2 Kings 20:6). “I will add fifteen years to your life. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David” (1 Chronicles 14:2).

Similarly, God says that the three worst kings of the Northern Kingdom were Jeroboam, Ahab, and Manasseh: “…because of the sins Jeroboam had committed and had caused Israel to commit, and because he had aroused the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel” (1 Kings 15:30). Like them, every person will have a profile before God, either like David or like Jeroboam. Let's use the grace God has given us and accept with perseverance and responsibility the holiness that is for us, and the service that is for “our neighbor.”
