Sâmbătă, 23 decembrie 2023, 1 Cronici 16:1-43 – Numirea și așezarea personalului religios în slujbă

După ce au ajuns cu chivotul la Ierusalim și l-au așezat în locul consacrat, au adus arderi de tot și jertfe de mulțumire. Toți ce prezenți au primit mâncare, pâine, carne și desert (v. 3). Apoi a fost un timp de închinare: rugăciuni, cântări de laudă acompaniate de instrumente (v. 4-6). Din ziua aceea, Asaf, ajutat de frații săi, a fost numit lider de închinare (v. 7). Cu această ocazie, David a compus un imn de mulțumire, o compilație de pasaje din psalmii compuși de el (v. 8-36).

Țadoc a fost preotul Cortului lui Moise de la Gabaom, iar Abiatar a devenit preotul locașului lui Dumnezeu de la Ierusalim. Motivul păstrării celor doi preoți a fost faptul că Țadoc venea din linia genealogică aaronică a lui Eleazar (1 Cronici 6:4-8), iar Abiatar se trăgea din spița de neam a lui Itamar (1 Cronici 24:6).

Cel mai probabil că, după ce chivotul a fost luat de la Silo, a fost dus la Gabaon, locul unde regele Solomon a adus jertfe lui Dumnezeu (1 Regi 3:4-10). Este impresionant faptul că preoții și leviții de atunci slujeau cu atâta bucurie și responsabilitate.

Îi mulțumim lui Dumnezeu pentru exemplul lor care se constituie într-un model de slujire responsabilă și entuziastă pentru noi. Dumnezeu să ne păstreze perspectiva duhovnicească în slujire, privind la tot ce facem pentru Domnul ca la o mare oportunitate. Într-o zi, dincolo de timp, această perspectivă va fi tot ce am putut lua cu noi de pe Planeta Pământ pe care ne-am bucurat plângând și am plâns bucurându-ne!

Saturday, December 23, 2023: 1 Chronicles 16:1-43 – The Appointment and Installation of Religious Personnel in Service

After they brought the Ark to Jerusalem and placed it in the consecrated spot, they offered burnt offerings and thanksgiving sacrifices. All those present received food, bread, meat, and dessert (v. 3). Then there was a time of worship: prayers, praise songs accompanied by instruments (v. 4-6). From that day, Asaph, assisted by his brothers, was appointed as the worship leader (v. 7). On this occasion, David composed a hymn of thanksgiving, a compilation of passages from psalms he had composed (v. 8-36).

Zadok was the priest of Moses' Tent at Gibeon, and Abiathar became the priest of the House of God at Jerusalem. The reason for keeping both priests was that Zadok came from the Aaronic genealogical line of Eleazar (1 Chronicles 6:4-8), and Abiathar descended from the line of Ithamar (1 Chronicles 24:6).

Most likely, after the Ark was taken from Shiloh, it was brought to Gibeon, the place where King Solomon offered sacrifices to God (1 Kings 3:4-10). It is impressive that the priests and Levites of that time served with such joy and responsibility.

We thank God for their example, which serves as a model of responsible and enthusiastic service for us. May God keep us spiritually minded in our service, seeing everything we do for the Lord as a great opportunity. One day, beyond time, this perspective will be all we can take with us from Planet Earth, where we rejoiced while weeping and wept while rejoicing!
