Vineri, 22 decembrie 2023, 1 Cronici 15:1-29 – David aduce chivotul la Ierusalim din casa lui Obed-Edom

După ce David a terminat de construit casele lui, a pregătit un loc pentru chivotul lui Dumnezeu și a organizat aducerea acestuia la Ierusalim din casa lui Obed-Edom. Aducându-și aminte de experiența dureroasă când Uza a fost omorât de Dumnezeu, a adunat preoții și leviții și le-a cerut să aducă chivotul în Ierusalim (v. 2, 13 și 15). Preoții erau Țadoc și Abiatar, iar leviții erau din familiile Chehat, Merari și Ghersom.

Leviții erau din familiile Elitafan, Hebron și Uziel. Preoții și leviții au fost consacrați după rigorile Legii lui Moise (Numeri 8:5-13) și au adus chivotul la Ierusalim, însoțiți de cântăreții Heman (nepotul lui Samuel, 1 Cronici 6:33) și Asaf, care au cântat cu țimbale din aramă. Alți opt muzicieni (v. 20) au cântat la lăute și încă șase au cântat la arfe cu opt coarde. Responsabil cu muzica vocală era Chenania, liderul muzical între leviți (1 Cronici 15:22). Patru leviți păzeau chivotul (v. 23) și șapte preoți sunau din trâmbițe (v. 24).

În acest context unic, istoric și glorios, David, care se afla în fruntea mulțimii, a început să danseze. Mical l-a văzut și l-a disprețuit. Această excepție a Scripturii este folosită pentru credicioșii care practică dansul în închinare. Foarte probabil că nici măcar nu știu contextul în care David a dansat și își imaginează că aceasta s-a întâmplat în timpul unui serviciu divin și poate s-a repetat.

Suntem mulțumitori Domnului pentru revelația Cuvântului sfânt care ne luminează mințile și ne oferă suficiente argumente pentru a ne închina în acord cu voia lui Dumnezeu. Continuând rugăciunea, vom cere Domnului pasiunea pentru a face lucrarea Domnului, responsabilitatea de a o face fără ca cineva să fie ucis de Dumnezeu (Uza) și discernământul de a o face într-o stare de echilibru. Dacă un lucru trebuie făcut, el trebuie făcut bine!

Friday, December 22, 2023: 1 Chronicles 15:1-29 – David Brings the Ark to Jerusalem from the House of Obed-Edom

After David had finished building his houses, he prepared a place for the Ark of God and organized its transportation to Jerusalem from the house of Obed-Edom. Remembering the painful experience when Uzzah was killed by God, he gathered the priests and Levites and asked them to bring the Ark to Jerusalem (v. 2, 13, and 15). The priests were Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites were from the families of Kohath, Merari, and Gershon.

The Levites were from the families of Elizaphan, Hebron, and Uzziel. The priests and Levites were consecrated according to the rigor of the Law of Moses (Numbers 8:5-13) and brought the Ark to Jerusalem, accompanied by the singers Heman (grandson of Samuel, 1 Chronicles 6:33) and Asaph, who sang with bronze cymbals. Eight other musicians (v. 20) played lyres, and six more played eight-stringed harps. The vocal music was led by Chenaniah, the musical leader among the Levites (1 Chronicles 15:22). Four Levites guarded the Ark (v. 23), and seven priests blew trumpets (v. 24).

In this unique, historic, and glorious context, David, who was at the head of the crowd, began to dance. Michal saw him and despised him. This exception in Scripture is used by believers who practice dancing in worship. It's very likely that they don't even know the context in which David danced and imagine that it happened during a divine service and might have been repeated.

We are thankful to the Lord for the revelation of the holy Word that enlightens our minds and provides us with sufficient arguments to worship in accordance with God's will. Continuing in prayer, we will ask the Lord for the passion to do the Lord's work, the responsibility to do it without anyone being killed by God (Uzzah), and the discernment to do it in a state of balance. If something needs to be done, it should be done well!
