Marți, 23 aprilie 2024, Iov 38:1-41 – Primul discurs al lui Dumnezeu

Dumnezeu Și-a manifestat prezența printr-o furtună mare și, făcând referire la Iov și ceilalți vorbitori, a întrebat: ,,Cine este cel ce Îmi întunecă planurile prin cuvântări fără pricepere?” (vers. 2) Apoi, Dumnezeu i-a pus întrebări lui Iov:

–              ,,Unde erai tu când am întemeiat pământul?” (vers. 4)

–              ,,Cine i-a hotărât măsurile, știi?” (vers. 5)

–              ,,Pe ce sunt sprijinite temeliile (pământului)?” (vers. 6)

–              ,,Cine a închis marea?” (vers. 8)

–              ,,De când ești ai poruncit tu dimineții…” (vers.12)

–              ,,Ai pătruns tu până la izvoarele mării?” (vers. 16)

Iov a fost confruntat cu propria neștiință: ,,Spune dacă ai pricepere” (vers. 4, 18). Dumnezeu i-a pus întrebări lui Iov despre pământ (vers. 4:21), despre cer (vers. 22-30), stele și nori (vers. 31-3 8).

Iov a fost expus de Dumnezeu și lăsat singur. În felul acesta a înțeles nivelul lui de inferioritate și imposibilitatea de a înțelege ce înțelege Dumnezeu.

Fiind timpul de rugăciune, ne vom ruga lui Dumnezeu să ne deschidă mintea pentru a evita confruntarea lui Dumnezeu și a ne încrede in mod deplin în promisiunile Sale.

Tuesday, April 23, 2024: Job 38:1-41 – God's First Speech

God manifested His presence through a great storm, and addressing Job and the other speakers, asked: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?” (verse 2) Then, God posed questions to Job:

–              “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?” (verse 4)

–              “Who marked off its dimensions, do you know?” (verse 5)

–              “On what are its footings set?” (verse 6)

–              “Who shut up the sea?” (verse 8)

–              “Since your days, have you ever ordered the morning…” (verse 12)

–              “Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea?” (verse 16)

Job was confronted with his own ignorance: “Tell me, if you have understanding” (verse 4, 18). God questioned Job about the earth (verse 4:21), the heavens (verse 22-30), stars, and clouds (verse 31-38).

God exposed Job and left him alone. In this way, Job understood his level of inferiority and the impossibility of understanding what God understands.

As it is a time for prayer, we will pray to God to open our minds to avoid confronting God and to fully trust in His promises.
