Sâmbătă, 20 iulie 2024, Psalm 84:1-12

Acest psalm al fiilor lui Care este o cântare nostalgică după măreția prezenței lui Dumnezeu în mijlocul Templului Său. Fiii lui Core erau leviții care aveau grijă de draperiile, perdelele și ușile ale Cortului Întâlnirii. Ei erau ,,păzitori ai pragului Cortului” (1 Cronici 9:19).

Acest psalm este o cântare de iubire și admirație pentru Casa lui Dumnezeu. Cel mai probabil că psalmistul a ajuns să trăiască pentru o perioadă de timp departe de Templul Domnului. Făcându-i-se dor de Casa lui Dumnezeu, el spune aceste minunate cuvinte: ,,Sufletul meu suspină şi tânjeşte de dor după curţile Domnului, inima şi carnea mea strigă către Dumnezeul cel viu!” (vers. 2)

Acești fii ai lui Core asociau fericirea personală cu Dumnezeu și Casa lui Dumnezeu: ,,Ferice de cei ce locuiesc în Casa Ta, căci ei tot mai pot să Te laude! Ferice de cei ce-şi pun tăria în Tine, în a căror inimă locuieşte încrederea!” (vers. 4-5).

Iată că fericirea nu are legătură directă cu lucrurile materiale. În fața lui Dumnezeu, în Casa lui Dumnezeu, omul se roagă, meditează, regretă, se bucură, plânge, refulează, se resetează, își recapătă echilibrul, bucuria…

Procesul acesta de stări sufletești conduce la fericire. În perspectiva psalmistului, Casa lui Dumnezeu este primitoare, caldă, liniștită, un loc pentru oricine, pentru absolut oricine: ,,Până şi pasărea îşi găseşte o casă acolo şi rândunica, un cuib unde îşi pune puii…” (vers. 3)

Admirația, respectul și adorarea Casei lui Dumnezeu pentru acest neam de leviți erau așa de mari, încât: ,,Căci mai mult face o zi în curţile Tale decât o mie în altă parte; eu vreau mai bine să stau în pragul Casei Dumnezeului meu decât să locuiesc în corturile răutăţii!” (vers. 10)

Cât de departe trebuie să fie sufletul unui om, cât de deconectat trebuie să fie de Dumnezeu, încât să aleagă să nu mai meargă la Casa Domnului? Să nu-i mai fie dor de prezența Celui Preaînalt?

Oamenii puternici spiritual sunt nelipsiți din ,,odăița” și din Casa lui Dumnezeu. Odăița este locul întâlnirii personale cu Dumnezeu, Templul este locul întâlnirii publice, comunitare cu Dumnezeu: ,,Ei merg din putere în putere şi se înfăţişează înaintea lui Dumnezeu în Sion.” (vers. 7)

Puterea firii pământești nu lucrează neprihănirea lui Dumnezeu. Psalmistul încheie psalmul 84 spunând: ,,Doamne al oştirilor, ferice de omul care se încrede în Tine!” (vers. 12)

Cine se încrede în Dumnezeu, cine Îl iubește și Îl respectă pe Dumnezeu, va iubi și va respecta și Casa lui Dumnezeu. Acest raport este absolut direct proporțional.

Să ne rugăm pentru o viață spirituală autentică, pentru o relație spirituală cu Dumnezeu puternică. În felul acesta vom fi roditori.

Saturday, July 20, 2024 – Psalm 84:1-12

This psalm of the sons of Korah is a nostalgic song about the greatness of God's presence in His Temple. The sons of Korah were the Levites who took care of the draperies, curtains, and doors of the Tent of Meeting. They were “keepers of the threshold of the Tent” (1 Chronicles 9:19).

This psalm is a song of love and admiration for the House of God. The psalmist likely came to live away from the Temple of the Lord for a period. Longing for the House of God, he says these wonderful words: “My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” (verse 2)

These sons of Korah associated personal happiness with God and the House of God: “Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.” (verses 4-5)

Happiness is not directly related to material things. In the presence of God, in the House of God, one prays, meditates, regrets, rejoices, cries, vents, resets, and regains balance and joy…

This process of emotional states leads to happiness. From the psalmist's perspective, the House of God is welcoming, warm, peaceful, a place for anyone, absolutely anyone: “Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young…” (verse 3)

The admiration, respect, and worship of the House of God for this tribe of Levites were so great that they stated, “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.” (verse 10)

How far must a person's soul be, how disconnected must they be from God, to choose not to go to the House of the Lord anymore? To no longer long for the presence of the Most High?

Spiritually strong people are ever-present in the “room” and in the House of God. The small room, or closet, is the place of personal meeting with God; the Temple is the place of public, communal meeting with God: “They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.” (verse 7)

The power of the flesh does not work for the righteousness of God. The psalmist ends Psalm 84 by saying: “Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.” (verse 12)

Whoever trusts in God, whoever loves and respects God, will also love and respect the House of God. This is a directly proportional relationship.

Let us pray for an authentic spiritual life, for a strong spiritual relationship with God. In this way, we will be fruitful.
