Duminică, 2 iunie 2024, Psalm 36:1-12

Regele David, gustând din plin din bunătatea lui Dumnezeu, dar în egală măsură din răutatea oamenilor, își construiește pe această antiteză scheletul psalmului cu numărul 36.

Primele patru versete prezintă păcătoșenia oamenilor, următoarele șase explicând bunătatea lui Dumnezeu. Ca în mulți alți psalmi, David începe cu omul și termină cu Dumnezeu, începe într-o notă pesimistă și încheie într-o notă pozitivă. Evoluția evidentă de la tragedie la triumf este făcută de Dumnezeu care ascultă rugăciunea omului neprihănit.

1. Pentru că nu se teme de Dumnezeu, omul rău face răul în mod continuu.

–              ,,Nelegiuirea celui rău zice…” (vers. 1);

–              ,,…(își) desăvârșește fărădelegea, ca să-și potolească ura” (vers. 2);

–              ,,Cuvintele gurii lui sunt mincinoase şi înşelătoare” (vers. 3a);

–              ,,nu mai vrea să lucreze cu înţelepciune şi să facă binele” (vers. 3b);

–              ,,În aşternutul lui se gândeşte la răutate” (vers. 4a);

–              ,,stă pe o cale care nu este bună şi nu urăşte răul.”  

2. Următoarele patru versete strălucesc prin prezentarea măreției, bunătății și suveranității lui Dumnezeu.

–              ,,Bunătatea Ta, Doamne, ajunge până la ceruri şi credincioşia Ta, până la nori” (vers 5);

–              ,,Dreptatea Ta este ca munţii lui Dumnezeu” (vers. 6a);

–              -,,…judecăţile Tale sunt ca adâncul cel mare” (vers. 6b);

–              ,,Doamne, Tu sprijini pe oameni şi pe dobitoace!” (vers. 6c);

–              ,,Cât de scumpă este bunătatea Ta, Dumnezeule” (vers. 7a).  

–              ,,La umbra aripilor Tale găsesc fiii oamenilor adăpost” (vers. 7b);

–              ,,Se satură de belşugul Casei Tale şi-i adăpi din şuvoiul desfătărilor Tale” (vers. 8);

–              ,,Căci la Tine este izvorul vieţii” (vers. 9a).;

–              ,,prin lumina Ta vedem lumina” (vers. 9b).

–              ,,Întinde-Ţi şi mai departe bunătatea peste cei ce Te cunosc şi dreptatea peste cei cu inima neprihănită” (vers 10).

3. În ultimele două versete, regele David se roagă, proclamând protecția și siguranța divină peste cei neprihăniți, asupra cărora răutatea celor răi nu mai are nici o autoritate.

–              ,,Să nu m-ajungă piciorul celui mândru şi să nu mă pună pe fugă mâna celor răi!” (vers. 11);

–              ,,Cei ce fac fărădelegea au şi început să cadă; sunt răsturnaţi şi nu pot să se mai scoale” (vers. 12).

Dacă experimentăm suferință din partea oamenilor răi, să ne amintim că răutatea lor nu are viitor și suferința noastră va pleca cum a venit. Această speranță este așezată pe tăria promisiunilor divine.

Cu aceeași tărie a făcut Dumnezeu Universul și pe om. Viitorul va fi al celor sfinți, al celor care Îl asculta și Îl urmează pe Dumnezeu. Fără Atotputernicul Dumnezeu nu avem nici o șansă să terminăm învingători, înconjurați fiind de dușmanii din afară, oamenii, și de dușmanii din suflet, păcatele.

,,Prin El suntem mai mult decât biruitori…” (Romani 8:37).

În timpul următoarei rugăciuni, vom primi prin credință în El speranță, mângâiere și bucurie.

Sunday, June 2, 2024 – Psalm 36:1-12

King David, fully experiencing both God’s goodness and human wickedness, builds the structure of Psalm 36 on this antithesis.

The first four verses present human sinfulness, the next six explain God’s goodness. As in many other psalms, David begins with man and ends with God, starts on a pessimistic note, and concludes on a positive note. The evident progression from tragedy to triumph is made by God, who listens to the prayer of the righteous man.

                  1.             Because he does not fear God, the wicked man continuously does evil.

•                              “I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes.” (verse 1)

•                              “In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.” (verse 2)

•                              “The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.” (verse 3)

•                              “Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.” (verse 4)

                  2.             The next four verses shine by presenting God’s greatness, goodness, and sovereignty.

                  •               “Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” (verse 5)

                  •               “Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.” (verse 6)

                  •               “How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” (verse 7)

                  •               “They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.” (verse 8)

                  •               “For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” (verse 9)

                  •               “Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.” (verse 10)

                  3.             In the last two verses, King David prays, proclaiming divine protection and safety over the righteous, over whom the wicked have no authority.

                  •               “May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.” (verse 11)

                  •               “See how the evildoers lie fallen—thrown down, not able to rise!” (verse 12)

If we experience suffering from the wicked, let us remember that their wickedness has no future, and our suffering will leave as it came. This hope is placed on the strength of divine promises. With the same strength, God made the Universe and man. The future will belong to the holy, to those who listen to and follow God. Without the Almighty God, we have no chance of finishing victoriously, surrounded as we are by enemies from outside- people, and enemies from within – sins.

“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us…” (Romans 8:37)

During the next prayer, we will receive by faith in Him hope, comfort, and joy.
