Sâmbătă, 18 noiembrie 2023 – 2 Regi:6:1-33 – Toporul plutitor și orbirea sirienilor

Numărul fiilor prorocilor s-a înmulțit atât de mult, încât nu mai încăpeau în clădirile pe care le aveau. Au primit permisiunea de la Elisei să aducă lemne de la Iordan și să construiască case noi. Din moment ce erau aproape de Iordan, foarte probabil că este vorba despre școala prorocilor din Ierihon.

Unuia dintre muncitori i-a căzut fierul de la secure în apă. Muncitorul s-a îngrijorat pentru că securea era împrumutată. Neștiind ce să facă, i-a cerut ajutor lui Elisei. Profetul a aruncat un lemn în apă și fierul a ieșit la suprafață. Această minune a fost o mare încurajare pentru ceata prorocilor.

Ben-Hadad, împăratul Siriei, era din nou în război cu Israelul. Împăratul a observat că evreii anticipau fiecare mișcare pe care el o face și a suspectat că exista un trădător în grupul ofițerilor. Unul dintre comandanți i-a spus că Elisei primește descoperire de la Dumnezeu cu privire la planul armatei siriene. Ben-Hadad a trimis un comando la Dotan să-l captureze pe Elisei, însă profetul s-a rugat lui Dumnezeu să le ia vederea sirienilor.

Sub pretextul că îi ajută să găsească drumul dorit, profetul i-a dus în Samaria. Elisei s-a rugat din nou pentru ca Dumnezeu să le deschidă ochii. Iotam a avut intenția să-i omoare, însă Elisei l-a sfătuit să se poarte bine cu ei.

Suntem din nou în fața acestui moment de rugăciune și vom mulțumi lui Dumnezeu pentru că, atunci când problemele nu se mai pot rezolva pe cale naturală, în bunătatea Sa, El face minuni  ca să ne scape. Continuând rugăciunea, vom cere de la Dumnezeu o viziune de creștere a lucrării pe care o facem. Așa după cum cei de la școala prorocilor s-au înmulțit și au construit pentru a crea noi oportunități, tot la așa, și noi să cerem de la Domnul o lucrare care să crească cantitativ și calitativ.

Saturday, November 18, 2023: 2 Kings 6:1-33 – The Floating Axe Head and the Blinding of the Syrians

The number of the company of the prophets had increased so much that they could no longer fit in the buildings they had. They received permission from Elisha to bring wood from the Jordan to build new houses. Since they were near the Jordan, it is very likely that this was the school of the prophets in Jericho.

One of the workers dropped the iron part of his axe into the water. The worker was worried because the axe was borrowed. Not knowing what to do, he asked Elisha for help. The prophet threw a piece of wood into the water and the iron floated to the surface. This miracle was a great encouragement to the group of prophets.

Ben-Hadad, the king of Syria, was at war with Israel again. The king noticed that the Jews anticipated every move he made and suspected there was a traitor in the group of officers. One of the commanders told him that Elisha was receiving revelations from God regarding the Syrian army's plan. Ben-Hadad sent a commando to Dothan to capture Elisha, but the prophet prayed to God to take away the Syrians' sight.

Under the pretext of helping them find the desired road, the prophet led them to Samaria. Elisha prayed again for God to open their eyes. Jotham intended to kill them, but Elisha advised him to treat them well.

We are again at this moment of prayer and we will thank God because, when problems can no longer be solved naturally, in His kindness, He performs miracles to save us. Continuing in prayer, we will ask God for a vision to grow the work we do. Just as those from the company of the prophets multiplied and built to create new opportunities, so too, may we ask the Lord for work that grows in both quantity and quality.
