Marți, 17 ianuarie, Geneza 15:1-21 – Legământul și reafirmarea promisiunii divine

Dumnezeu S-a arătat într-o teofanie lui Avram, reafirmând promisiunea inițială. În mijlocul unui ritual ceremonial, Dumnezeu a făcut un legământ cu Avram. După 25 de ani de așteptare, Avram a primit copilul promis. Biografia lui Avram este o adevărată provocare pentru fiecare credincios:

1) A fost un bărbat special, a întemeiat o familie și a întemeiat o națiune.

2) A avut relații bune cu toți oamenii, cu nepotul său, Lot, care a fost un oportunist, și a avut o relație spirituală specială cu Dumnezeu.

3) Ceea ce îi este comun lui Avram este faptul că Dumnezeu i-a vorbit și el s-a închinat în fața altarelor pe care le construia oriunde se muta (de cel puțin patru ori se menționează în Biblie).

4) A trăit fericit, i-a făcut pe alții fericiți și a murit fericit.

5) A fost un om drept și a poruncit urmașilor lui să țină Calea Domnului.

6) Și-a părăsit țara în care s-a născut la porunca lui Dumnezeu și a mers în Canaan, la aproximativ 600 de km depărtare.

7) A gestionat cu înțelepciune și lepădare de sine conflictele cu familia extinsă.

8) A renunțat la oportunitățile de business din câmpia orașelor Sodoma și Gomora, alegând să trăiască la munte, separat de destrăbălarea orașelor din vale.

9) Le-a împărțit moștenirea înainte de moarte, evitând în felul acesta potențialele neînțelegeri între fiii săi.

Încrederea pe care Avram a avut-o în Dumnezeu i-a fost socotită neprihănire. În felul acesta putem înțelege cum socotește Dumnezeu lipsa de încredere a multor oameni!

În această dimineață vom mulțumi pentru legământul pe care Dumnezeu l-a făcut cu noi. Apoi vom continua rugăciunea cerând insistent Domnului să ne dea putere să ne încredem în orice împrejurare în promisiunile Sale.

Tuesday, January 17: Genesis 15:1-21 – The Covenant and Reaffirmation of Divine Promises

            God showed himself to Abram in a theophany, reaffirming His original promise. In the middle of a ritual ceremony, God made a promise to Abram. After 25 years of waiting, Abram received the promised child. Abram’s biography is a true challenge for every believer:

1)    He was a special man; he established a family and a nation.

2)    He had good relationships with all people, with his nephew Lot, who was an opportunist, and he had a special spiritual relationship with God.

3)    What is common to Abram is the fact that God spoke to him, and he worshipped Him before the altars he built everywhere he moved (this is mentioned at least four times in the Bible).

4)    He lived happy, he made others happy, and he died happy.

5)    He was a just man and he commanded his descendants to follow the Path of the Lord.

6)    He left the country he was born in because God commanded it and went to Canaan, approximately 600 km away.

7)    He acted with wisdom and selflessness when it came to conflicts with his extended family

8)    He rejected the business opportunities from Sodom and Gomorrah, choosing instead to live on the mountain, separate from the debauchery of the cities in the valley.

9)    He split his inheritance between his sons before he died, avoiding any conflicts between them.

The trust that Abraham had in God was counted as righteousness. In this way we can understand how God considers the lack of trust of many people!

This morning we will thank God for the covenant that He has made with us. Then we will continue praying by asking insistently that the Lord gives us the strength to trust in His promises no matter the circumstance.
