Joi, 14 martie 2024, Estera 8:1-17 – Salvarea evreilor

În suveranitatea Sa, Dumnezeu a avut un plan pentru scăparea lui Mardoheu. Estera, dintr-o fată orfană, aparținând unei minorități etnice și religioase disprețuite, a devenit soția împăratului persan. Îndrumată de vărul ei, Mardoheu, care i-a devenit tată adoptiv, Estera a fost folosită de Dumnezeu să-i salveze pe evrei și sa le schimbe statutul social.

Începe o era nouă, fără Haman, mâna dreaptă a împăratului și marele dușman al evreilor. Toate proprietățile lui au fost confiscate și date Esterei. Regina l-a pus pe Mardoheu să administreze toate proprietățile lui Haman. Inelul împăratului care fusese dat lui Haman ca simbol al autorizării decretului împotriva iudeilor (3:10) a fost dat de către Ahașveroș lui Mardoheu.

Decretul de exterminare a evreilor nu putea fi revocat pentru că ,,legea mezilor și perșilor” nu putea fi schimbată. Estera a mers din nou înaintea regelui și a cerut favoare pentru neamul ei. Artaxerxe a fost atât de binevoitor, încât i-a încredințat lui Mardoheu autoritatea să scrie o altă scrisoare pe care s-o sigileze cu inelul împăratului. Decretul scris de Mardoheu dădea voie evreilor să se apere și să se lupte cu orice grup care va lupta împotriva lor, apărându-și familiile și proprietățile.

Ei au avut la dispoziție aproximativ nouă luni de zile pentru a se pregăti, instrui și organiza. Călăreții au mers în tot imperiul, din India până în Etiopia, să ducă tuturor decretul scris de Mardoheu pentru scăparea evreilor. Vestea aceasta a produs o mare încurajare și bucurie evreilor, dar și o mare spaimă locuitorilor țării, care au conștientizat că Dumnezeu este cu ei.

Lecția de viață din acest pasaj oferă multă încredere și siguranță credincioșilor. Dumnezeu S-a luptat pentru ei, i-a scăpat și i-a binecuvântat într-o țară străină. În rugăciunea din această dimineață ne vom ruga lui Dumnezeu să ne mărească credința pentru a ne încrede în El în orice încercare.

Thursday, March 14, 2024: Esther 8:1-17 – The Salvation of the Jews

In His sovereignty, God had a plan for Mordecai's escape. Esther, from an orphan girl belonging to a despised ethnic and religious minority, became the wife of the Persian emperor. Guided by her cousin Mordecai, who became her adoptive father, Esther was used by God to save the Jews and change their social status.

A new era begins, without Haman, the king's right hand man and the great enemy of the Jews. All his properties were confiscated and given to Esther. The queen put Mordecai in charge of administering all of Haman's properties. The king's ring, which had been given to Haman as a symbol of the decree's authorization against the Jews (3:10), was given by Ahasuerus to Mordecai.

The decree for the extermination of the Jews could not be revoked because “the law of the Medes and Persians” could not be changed. Esther went before the king again and asked for favor for her people. Artaxerxes was so benevolent that he entrusted Mordecai with the authority to write another letter to be sealed with the king's ring. Mordecai's decree allowed the Jews to defend themselves and fight any group that would attack them, protecting their families and properties.

They had about nine months to prepare, train, and organize. Riders went throughout the empire, from India to Ethiopia, to deliver Mordecai's decree for the salvation of the Jews. This news brought great encouragement and joy to the Jews, but also great fear to the inhabitants of the land, who realized that God was with the Jews.

The life lesson from this passage offers much confidence and security to believers. God fought for them, delivered them, and blessed them in a foreign land. In this morning's prayer, we will pray to God to increase our faith and to trust in Him in every trial.
