Miercuri, 14 februarie 2024, Ezra 2:1-70 – Lista oamenilor care s-au întors în Iudeea

Ezra consemnează mai întâi 11 conducători proeminenți. Apoi Ezra a scris numele familiilor, urmată de lista locuitorilor. Urmează lista cu preoții și leviții, cântăreții și fiii ușierilor. Au urmat slujitorii Templului și fiii robilor lui Solomon.

Principalele grupuri de repatriați au fost constituite din familii mari și grupuri înrudite. Numărul total al oamenilor care s-au întors sub Zorobabel a fost de 49.829. Au fost numărate chiar și animalele, numărul lor fiind 8.136. Distanța dintre Babilon și Ierusalim este de aprox. 1500 de km, distanță care a fost parcursă în aproape patru luni.

Când primul grup, alături de Zorobabel au ajuns în Ierusalim, au adus daruri de bună voie pentru restaurarea Casei Domnului. Din nou acasă! Venise timpul repatrierii, al bucuriei, al unui nou început.

În rugăciunea acestei dimineți vom mijloci pentru restaurare, însă dincolo de lucrurile materiale, să cerem restaurarea conștiințelor. De aici începe totul!

Wednesday, February 14, 2024:  Ezra 2:1-70 – The List of People Who Returned to Judea

Ezra first recorded 11 prominent leaders. Then Ezra wrote down the names of the families, followed by the list of inhabitants. Next is the list of priests and Levites, the singers, and the sons of the gatekeepers. This is followed by the Temple servants and the sons of Solomon's slaves.

The main groups of repatriates were made up of large families and related groups. The total number of people who returned under Zerubbabel was 49,829. Even the animals were counted, numbering 8,136. The distance between Babylon and Jerusalem is approximately 1500 km, a distance that was covered in nearly four months.

When the first group, along with Zerubbabel, arrived in Jerusalem, they brought voluntary gifts for the restoration of the House of the Lord. Home again! The time for repatriation had come, a time of joy, of a new beginning.

In this morning's prayer, we will intercede for restoration, but beyond material things, let us ask for the restoration of consciences. Everything begins from here!
