Luni, 13 martie 2023, Exodul 19:1-25 – Pustia și muntele Sinai

Ajungând la Muntele Sinai, Moise s-a urcat pe înălțime și acolo a primit de la Dumnezeu Legea cu toate prevederile ei. Împreună cu poporul eliberat din Egipt, au rămas acolo 11 luni și șase zile. Evenimentele petrecute acolo în acea perioadă de timp sunt menționate în pasajul dintre Exod 19:1 și Numeri 10:10.

Dumnezeu S-a adresat poporului la Sinai, spunându-le că i-a purtat pe aripi ca de vultur în această călătorie a eliberării din robie. Atunci când puii de vultur învață să zboare, mama lor zboară sub ei cu aripile întinse pentru a-i prinde la nevoie.

Atunci când menționează că a încheiat un legământ cu ei, Dumnezeu conferă poporului o poziție înaltă printre națiunile pământului (v. 5). Când Dumnezeu le-a cerut să se sfințească, ei au practicat pentru trei zile ritualul purificării, spălându-și hainele și abținându-se de la relații intime.

În a treia zi, Dumnezeu a coborât pe Sinai într-o manifestare a atotputerniciei și maiestății Sale. Poporul de la poalele muntelui a fost apucat de spaimă (v. 16). Doar Moise și Aaron au avut permisiunea lui Dumnezeu de a se apropia de munte. Moise de trei ori s-a urcat pe munte și a coborât, punând în evidență importanța oficiului lui Moise.

Mulțumim lui Dumnezeu pentru că ne-a învățat să ne sfințim viețile așa cu o mamă îi învață pe puii ei să zboare. Apoi ne vom ruga să primim puterea de a ne sfinți viețile.

Monday, March 13, 2023: Exodus 19:1-25 – The Wilderness and Mount Sinai

When they arrived at Mount Sinai, Moses climbed near the top and there he received the Law from God with all its provisions. They all stayed there together with the people freed from Egypt for 11 months and 6 days. The events that took place there during that time are mentioned in the passage between Exodus 19:1 and Numbers 10:10.

God addressed the people at Sinai, telling them that He had carried them on eagle’s wings in this journey of liberation from slavery. When baby eagles learn to fly, their mother flies under them with outstretched wings to catch them if needed.

When God mentions that He has made a covenant with them, He confers a high position upon the people among the nations of the earth (v. 5). When God asked them to sanctify themselves, they practiced the purification ritual for three days, washing their clothes and abstaining from intimate relations.

On the third day, God descended on Sinai in a manifestation of His almightiness and majesty. The people at the foot of the mountain were seized with fear (v. 16). Only Moses and Aaron were allowed by God to approach the mountain. Moses climbed the mountain three times, emphasizing the importance of Moses’ position.

Today, we thank God for teaching us to sanctify our lives just as a mother teaches her chicks to fly. Then we will pray to receive the power to sanctify our lives.
