Sâmbătă, 13 aprilie 2024, Iov 28:1-28 – Iov vorbește despre înțelepciunea lui Dumnezeu

În acest pasaj Iov vorbește despre înțelepciunea lui Dumnezeu și despre incapacitatea omului de a o înțelege pe deplin. Pentru a pune în evidență măreția înțelepciunii divine, Iov o așază în contrast cu performanțele notabile realizate de om:

1.         Omul scoate metale valoroase de sub pământ (vers. 1-2) – intenția omului de a se îmbogăți.

2.         El intră în adâncimile pământului și creează galerii, mine… de unde scoate pietre prețioase. Animalele și păsările nu pot face aceste lucruri (vers. 3-11).

3.         În ciuda unicității și performanțelor omului în raport cu animalele necuvântătoare, el nu găsește calea spre ,,locuința priceperii” (vers. 12).

Legea insuficienței permanente funcționează și în legătură cu performanțele omenești. Astfel, orice lucrul material satisface pentru o perioadă scurtă de timp și apoi apare insuficiența și rutina.   

Iov înșiră marile realizări istorice ale omului și neputința lui de a găsi înțelepciunea pentru a pune în evidență valoarea și unicitatea acesteia din urmă (vers. 12-22). Ideea acestui pasaj sugerează faptul că omul poate găsi mai repede și mai ușor bogățiile materiale (aur, argint, diamante, cristal) decât înțelepciunea.

,,Căci înţelepciunea preţuieşte mai mult decât mărgăritarele şi niciun lucru de preţ nu se poate asemui cu ea” (Proverbe 8:11).

Singurul care știe unde este înțelepciunea este Dumnezeu: ,,De unde vine atunci înțelepciunea? Unde este locuința priceperii? Este ascunsă de ochii tuturor celor vii, este ascunsă de păsările cerului. Adâncul și Moartea zic: ,,Noi am auzit vorbindu-se despre ea. Dumnezeu îi știe drumul, El îi cunoaște locuința. Căci El vede până la marginile pământului, zărește totul sub ceruri” (vers. 20-24).

Dumnezeu a creat și a stabilit intensitatea și hotarele fenomenelor naturii: ,,greutatea vântului”, ,,măsura apelor”, ,,legile ploii”, ,,drumul fulgerului și tunetului” (vers. 25-26). În ultimul verset, Dumnezeu ne dezvăluie secretul înțelepciunii: ,,Frica de Domnul, aceasta este înțelepciunea, depărtarea de rău este priceperea” (vers. 28).

În concluzie, înțelepciunea este să te supui stăpânirii lui Dumnezeu și să trăiești în sfințenie.

În rugăciunea pe care o vom face împreună să cerem înțelepciune. ,,Dacă vreunuia dintre voi îi lipseşte înţelepciunea, s-o ceară de la Dumnezeu, care dă tuturor cu mână largă şi fără mustrare, şi ea îi va fi dată.” (Iacov 1:5) Înțelepciunea este abilitatea de a vedea viața din perspectiva lui Dumnezeu și de a face alegeri pentru slava Sa și binele nostru etern.

Saturday, April 13, 2024: Job 28:1-28 – Job speaks about the wisdom of God

In this passage, Job discusses the wisdom of God and the human incapacity to fully comprehend it. To highlight the grandeur of divine wisdom, Job contrasts it with notable human achievements:

1.         Humans extract valuable metals from beneath the earth (verses 1-2) – a reflection of man's intention to enrich himself.

2.         They delve into the depths of the earth and create tunnels and mines from which they extract precious stones. Animals and birds are incapable of doing these things (verses 3-11).

3.         Despite the uniqueness and achievements of humans in comparison to speechless animals, they do not find the path to the dwelling place of understanding (verse 12).

The law of permanent insufficiency also applies to human achievements. Thus, any material thing provides satisfaction only for a short period before insufficiency and routine set in.

Job lists the great historical achievements of man and his inability to find wisdom to emphasize the value and uniqueness of the latter (verses 12-22). The idea of this passage suggests that man can find material riches (gold, silver, diamonds, crystal) more easily and quickly than wisdom.

“For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her” (Proverbs 8:11).

The only one who knows where wisdom resides is God: ” Where, then, does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding? It is hidden from the eyes of all living and concealed from the birds of the air. Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a rumor of it.’ God understands its way, and he knows its place. For he looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens” (verses 20-24).

God has created and set the intensity and boundaries of natural phenomena: “the force of the wind,” “the measure of the waters,” “a decree for the rain,” “the path of a thunderstorm” (verses 25-26). In the final verse, God reveals the secret of wisdom: “The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding” (verse 28).

In conclusion, wisdom is to submit to the dominion of God and live in holiness.

In our prayer together, let us ask for wisdom. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5) Wisdom is the ability to see life from God's perspective and to make choices for His glory and our eternal good.
