Miercuri, 12 iulie 2023, Iosua 4:1-24 – Pietrele de aducere aminte

Era important ca Israelul să nu uite această minune, împlinirea unui vis de 40 de ani. Dumnezeu le-a cerut să aducă 12 pietre din Iordan la Ghilgal și să ridice un monument de aducere aminte în cinstea Domnului. Acest monument urma să vorbească și copiilor când aceștia urmau să întrebe despre însemnătatea acestui monument.

Preoții au intrat primii în Iordan și au ieșit ultimii. Când ei au ieșit, Iordanul și-a reluat cursul. Acum drumul s-a închis în spatele lor și locul uscat pe unde au trecut ei a fost acoperit într-o clipă de apele care ,,au așteptat” până ce preoții au ieșit. În ziua aceea au devenit proprietari ai Țării Promise de Dumnezeu lui Avraam, Isaac și Iacov. Dumnezeu S-a ținut de cuvânt și i-a trecut pe uscat prin Iordan, după cum pe părinții lor i-a trecut ,,pe uscat” prin Marea Roșie.

Un nou capitol începuse în viața lor.

O nouă zi, o nouă rugăciune… Începem prin a-I mulțumi Domnului pentru un nou început, pentru o nouă șansă. Vom continua rugăciunea, cerându-I lui Dumnezeu să ne ajute să nu uităm lecțiile vieții, lecții care vorbesc despre mâna puternică și suverană a lui Dumnezeu!

Wednesday, July 12, 2023: Joshua 4:1-24 – Stones of Remembrance

It was important for Israel to not forget this miracle, the fulfillment of a 40-year dream. God instructed them to bring 12 stones from the Jordan to Gilgal and erect a memorial as a remembrance to the Lord. This memorial was intended to speak to future generations, especially when children would inquire about its significance.

The priests entered the Jordan first and came out last. When they emerged, the Jordan resumed its flow. The path closed behind them, and the dry ground they had walked on was instantly covered by the waters that had “waited” until the priests had crossed. On that day, they became the owners of the Promised Land, the land that God had promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God kept His word and led them through the Jordan on dry ground, just as He had led their parents “on dry ground” through the Red Sea. A new chapter had begun in their lives.

It is a new day, a new prayer… We begin by thanking the Lord for a new beginning, for a fresh chance. We will continue our prayer, asking God to help us not forget the lessons of life, lessons that speak of the powerful and sovereign hand of God!
