Miercuri, 11 ianuarie, Geneza 9:1-29 – Legământul lui Dumnezeu cu Noe

  După ce Noe și familia lui au ieșit din corabie, Dumnezeu a făcut un legământ cu ei. Biblia prezintă mai multe legăminte, însă aici vom prezenta doar cinci dintre ele:

   1) LEGĂMÂNTUL ADAMIC arată responsabilitatea omului vizavi de creație și include blestemul rostit împotriva șarpelui și pedepsele rostite împotriva lui Adam și Eva.

   2) LEGĂMÂNTUL NOETIC explică faptul că Dumnezeu a promis omenirii că nu va mai distruge niciodată viața de pe pământ cu un potop, iar curcubeul a fost semnul acestui legământ.

   3) LEGĂMÂNTUL AVRAAMIC arată cum Dumnezeu îi promite lui Avraam câteva lucruri:

a) îi va face un nume mare;

b) va avea mulți urmași fizici;

c) va fi tatăl unei mulțimi de popoare;

d) din el va ieși o națiune numită Israel.

   4) LEGĂMÂNTUL DAVIDIC promite că linia genealogică a lui David va dăinui veșnic și din ea va ieși Mesia.

   5) LEGĂMÂNTUL CEL NOU este un legământ făcut mai întâi cu națiunea Israel și, în cele din urmă, cu întreaga omenire. În Legământul cel Nou Dumnezeu promite să ierte păcatul și să instaureze Biserica.

   În această dimineață vom mulțumi lui Dumnezeu pentru că a inițiat aceste legăminte veșnice și L-a promis pe Mesia. Apoi ne vom ruga Domnului să ne dea putere pentru a fi credincioși, beneficiind în felul acesta de legământul cu Dumnezeu.

Wednesday, January 11: Genesis 9:1-29 – God’s Covenant with Noah

  After Noah and his family exited the ark, God made a covenant with them. The Bible presents many covenants, but here we will only look at five of them:

   1)    The ADAMIC COVENANT shows man’s responsibility toward creation and includes the curse on the snake as well as the punishments inflicted on Adam and Eve.

2)    The NOAHIC COVENANT explains the fact that God promises people that He will not destroy the life on earth with a flood again; the rainbow was the symbol of this covenant.

3)    The ABRAHAMIC COVENANT shows how God promises Abraham a few things:

a.     He would make a great name for him

b.     he would have many physical descendants

c.     he would be the father of a large nation named Israel

4)    The DAVIDIC COVENANT promises that David’s genealogical lineage would live forever, and the Messiah would descent from it

5)    The NEW COVENANT was a covenant first made with the nation of Israel and eventually, with all of humanity. In the New Covenant, God promises to forgive sins and establish the Church.

This morning we will thank God because He initiate these eternal covenants and He promised Messiah. Then we will ask the Lord to give us strength to be faithful, benefitting in this way from the covenant we have with God.
