Duminică, 10 decembrie 2023: 1 Cronici 3:1-24 – Familia lui David

Evidențele scrise de secretarii de acum, aproximativ 2500, sunt atât de clare și explicite, încât noi să putem înțelege istoria și stilul de viață al acelor oameni. Secretarul/cărturarul Ezra nu a fost doar un iubitor de istorie, ci el a fost și un iubitor de oameni. Munca de arhivare și păstrare a trecutului face posibilă aducerea lui în prezent. Doar în felul acesta mai putem ști, după sute sau mii de ani, cine, unde, cum și de ce… a spus, a făcut cutare și cutare lucru.

În prezentarea genealogiilor Israelului am trecut până acum prin primele trei capitole din Cartea Cronici:

1.     Genealogiile de la Adam la Avraam (1:1-27)

2.     Genealogiile de la Avraam la Iacov (1:28-54)

3.     Genealogiile de la Iacov la David (2:1-55)

4.     Genealogiile de la David la robie (3:1-24)

Cărțile 1 și 2 Cronici se ocupă în mod deosebit de dinastia davidică din Iuda și de linia genealogică levită. Prezentarea acestor genealogii are menirea să demonstreze că David și Iuda au fost aleși de Dumnezeu. Solomon a fost fiul care a făcut parte din genealogia promisă lui David (22:9-10). Lista cu descendenții lui Solomon este, de fapt, lista regilor din Regatul de Sud, de la Solomon până la Zedechia (10-16).

Îi mulțumim lui Dumnezeu pentru că Biblia este Cartea în care putem avea deplină încredere. Dovada constă în autenticitatea împlinirii profețiilor făcute de Creator. Detaliile împlinirii cu scrupulozitate a acestor profeții pe o perioadă de câteva mii de ani produc credință și stârnesc admirație. Vom cere de la Dumnezeu în această rugăciune pasiunea de a citi în mod consecvent Scriptura și integritatea de a o trăi cu pasiune și bucurie. În felul acesta suntem îndreptățiți să trăim cu speranța revenirii Mântuitorului nostru drag!

Sunday, December 10, 2023: 1 Chronicles 3:1-24 – The Family of David

The records written by the scribes about 2500 years ago are so clear and explicit that we can understand the history and lifestyle of those people. The scribe Ezra was not just a lover of history, but also a lover of people. The work of archiving and preserving the past makes it possible to bring it into the present. Only in this way can we still know, after hundreds or thousands of years, who, where, how, and why… said or did a certain thing.

In presenting the genealogies of Israel, we have so far gone through the first three chapters of the Book of Chronicles:

1.     The Genealogies from Adam to Abraham (1:1-27)

2.     The Genealogies from Abraham to Jacob (1:28-54)

3.     The Genealogies from Jacob to David (2:1-55)

4.     The Genealogies from David to the exile (3:1-24)

The books of 1 & 2 Chronicles are particularly concerned with the Davidic dynasty of Judah and the Levitical genealogical line. The presentation of these genealogies is intended to demonstrate that David and Judah were chosen by God. Solomon was the son who was part of the genealogy promised to David (22:9-10). The list of Solomon's descendants is, in fact, the list of kings from the Southern Kingdom, from Solomon to Zedekiah (10-16).

We thank God that the Bible is the Book in which we can have complete confidence. The proof lies in the authenticity of the fulfillment of prophecies made by the Creator. The meticulous fulfillment of these prophecies over a period of several thousand years produces faith and arouses admiration. We will ask God in this prayer for the passion to read Scripture consistently and the integrity to live it with passion and joy. In this way, we are justified in living with the hope of the return of our beloved Savior!
