Sâmbătă, 1 februarie 2025, Ieremia 10:1-25

Capitolele 2-6 expun profețiile lui Ieremia din primii cinci ani de slujire. Următoarele trei capitole, 7-9, prezintă profețiile din perioada în care Templul fusese deja curățit și Cartea Domnului fusese găsită. Capitolul 10 folosește un stil figurativ, care, într-o anumită măsură, este prezent în întreaga carte.

În primele 16 versete ale capitolului 10, Ieremia prezintă caracterul lui Dumnezeu cu intenția să surprindă superioritatea lui Dumnezeu în raport cu idolii fără viață.

1.     Unicitate – „Niciunul nu este ca Tine, Doamne!” (vers. 6a)

2.     Măreție – „Mare ești Tu și mare este Numele Tău prin puterea Ta.” (vers. 6b)

3.     Putere – „Cine să nu se teamă de Tine, Împărate al neamurilor?” (vers. 7a)

4.     Înțelepciune – „Ție Ți se cuvine teama, căci între toți înțelepții neamurilor și în toate împărățiile lor, niciunul nu este ca Tine.” (vers. 7b)

5.     Eternitate – „Dar Domnul este Dumnezeu cu adevărat, este un Dumnezeu viu și un Împărat veșnic.” (vers. 10a)

6.     Suveranitate – „Pământul tremură de mânia Lui și neamurile nu pot să sufere urgia Lui.” (vers. 10b)

7.     Creator – „Dar El a făcut pământul prin puterea Lui, a întemeiat lumea prin înțelepciunea Lui, a întins cerurile prin priceperea Lui.” (vers. 12)

8.     Autoritate – „La tunetul Lui, urlă apele în ceruri; El ridică norii de la marginile pământului, dă naștere fulgerelor și ploii și scoate vântul din cămările Lui.” (vers. 13)

Următoarele șapte versete, 17-22, descriu viitoarea distrugere a țării și exilul poporului: „Căci așa vorbește Domnul: «Iată, de data aceasta voi arunca departe pe locuitorii țării. Îi voi strânge de aproape, ca să simtă. Iată, se aude un vuiet! O mare zarvă vine de la miazănoapte să prefacă cetățile lui Iuda într-un pustiu, într-o vizuină de șacali.” (vers. 18, 22)

Ultimele trei versete, 23-25, prezintă rugăciunea de mijlocire a lui Ieremia: „Știu, Doamne, că soarta omului nu este în puterea lui; nici nu stă în puterea omului când umblă să-și îndrepte pașii spre țintă. Pedepsește-mă, Doamne, dar cu măsură, și nu în mânia Ta, ca să nu mă nimicești!” (vers. 23-24)

Rugăciunea lui Ieremia și lacrimile lui nu au putut schimba judecata lui Dumnezeu pentru un popor care L-a ofensat prin păcatele lui în fiecare zi de viață.

Să ne rugăm Domnului să ne păstreze credincioși, sfinți și roditori.

Saturday, February 1, 2025 – Jeremiah 10:1-25

Chapters 2-6 present Jeremiah's prophecies from the first five years of his ministry. The next three chapters, 7-9, contain prophecies from the period when the Temple had already been cleansed, and the Book of the Lord had been found. Chapter 10 uses a figurative style, which, to some extent, is present throughout the book.

In the first 16 verses of chapter 10, Jeremiah presents God’s character with the intention of highlighting God's superiority over lifeless idols.

1. Uniqueness – “No one is like you, Lord.” (v. 6a)
2. Greatness – “You are great, and your name is mighty in power.” (v. 6b)
3. Power – “Who should not fear you, King of the nations?” (v. 7a)
4. Wisdom – “Among all the wise leaders of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like you.” (v. 7b)
5. Eternity – “But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King.” (v. 10a)
6. Sovereignty – “When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.” (v. 10b)
7. Creator – “But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.” (v. 12)
8. Authority – “When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.” (v. 13)

The next seven verses, 17-22, describe the coming destruction of the land and the exile of the people:

“This is what the Lord says: ‘At this time I will hurl out those who live in this land; I will bring distress on them so that they may be captured. Listen! The sound of a report! A great commotion from the land of the north! It will make the towns of Judah desolate, a haunt of jackals.’” (vv. 18, 22)

The last three verses, 23-25, present Jeremiah’s intercessory prayer:

“Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps. Discipline me, Lord, but only in due measure—not in your anger, or you will reduce me to nothing.” (vv. 23-24)

Jeremiah’s prayer and his tears could not change God’s judgment for a people who had offended Him with their sins every day of their lives.

Let us pray that the Lord will keep us faithful, holy, and fruitful.
