Sâmbătă, 30 august 2025, Marcu 5:1-43

Marcu 5 descrie manifestarea autorităţii divine în cele mai disperate experienţe umane: boală incurabilă, posedare demonică şi moarte. În acest capitol, Domnul S-a întâlnit cu suferinţa.

Acţiunea prezentată în capitolul 5 se petrece în Gadara: „Au ajuns pe celălalt ţărm al mării, în ţinutul gadarenilor.” (vers. 1)

Gadara nu făcea parte din Israel, fiind o zonă păgână, situată pe locul Iordaniei de astăzi. În vremea de atunci, Gadara era un centru greco-roman, făcea parte din Decapolis, o ligă de zece oraşe cu autonomie administrativă.

Capitolul 5 prezintă întâlnirea Mântuitorului cu trei persoane a căror viaţă a fost transformată în mod supranatural: un bărbat îndrăcit, o femeie bolnavă în faza terminală şi un tată disperat căruia îi murise fiica.

1.     Vindecarea îndrăcitului (vers. 1-20)

Când a coborât din corabie, Domnul Isus a fost întâmpinat de un om posedat care trăia în cimitir:

·       „Îşi avea locuinţa în morminte” (vers. 3),

·       „nimeni nu putea să-l lege” (vers. 3),

·       „nimeni nu putea să-l stăpânească” (vers. 4).

·       „Şi tot timpul, noapte şi zi, era în morminte şi în munţi” (vers. 5).

Mântuitorul a poruncit duhului necurat să iasă din el. Duhul a cerut permisiunea Domnului să intre într-o turmă de porci care se afla în apropiere şi El a îngăduit: „…cel ce fusese îndrăcit şi avusese legiunea de draci şezând jos, îmbrăcat şi întreg la minte; şi s-au înspăimântat.” (vers. 15)

Turma de porci în care a intrat demonul s-a aruncat în mare şi a murit înecată. Localnicii s-au speriat şi L-au rugat pe Domnul să plece din ţinutul lor.

2.     Vindecarea femeii bolnave şi învierea fiicei lui Iair (vers. 21-43)

Iair, liderul sinagogii din Gadara, a venit la Domnul rugându-L să meargă la el acasă şi să-i vindece fiica bolnavă. În timp ce mergeau prin mulţime spre casa lui Iair, o femeie cu hemoragie, bolnavă de 12 ani, s-a atins de haina Mântuitorului, spunându-şi în minte: „Dacă aş putea doar să mă ating de haina Lui, mă voi tămădui.” (vers. 28)

Femeia nu a cerut o întâlnire cu Mântuitorul, doar s-a atins de haina Lui prin credinţă, semn al disperării şi speranţei, şi a fost vindecată pe loc. Credinţa personală aduce vindecare şi restaurare: „Fiică, credinţa ta te-a mântuit; du-te în pace şi fii tămăduită de boala ta.” (vers. 34)

Isus nu doar vindecă fizic, ci restaurează identitatea ei când îi spune „Fiică…” (vers. 34). În timp ce Isus vorbea cu femeia, ajunge vestea că fiica lui Iair a murit. Ce o fi gândit tatăl fetiţei ştiind că Domnul ar fi ajuns la fiica lui dacă nu-L oprea femeia bolnavă?În ciuda acestei veşti năucitoare, Mântuitorul îi cere lui Iair să-şi continue drumul spre casă, spunându-i: „Nu te teme, crede numai!” (vers. 36) Mântuitorul ajunge la casa lui Iair şi, ignorând plânsul celor din casă, a intrat în camera fetei şi a spus: „Copilă, scoală-te!” (vers. 41)

Credinţa trebuie să învingă frica şi scepticismul. Pe omul îndrăcit, Domnul l-a eliberat spunând: „Duh necurat, ieşi din omul acesta!” (vers. 8) Pe femeia bolnavă a vindecat-o spunând: „du-te în pace şi fii tămăduită de boala ta.” (vers. 34) Pe fetiţa moartă a înviat-o spunând: „Copilă, scoală-te!” (vers. 41). Aşa a creat Universul – spunând. Aşa a făcut aceste trei minuni aici în Gadara – spunând. În vorbele Lui este o forţă creatoare, incredibilă şi miraculoasă! El este Dumnezeu! Îndrăcitul era dezumanizat, izolat, violent, trăia în morminte, exclus de societate. Femeia bolnavă de 12 ani era disperată, sărăcită de cheltuielile medicale, marginalizată. Fiica lui Iair, la vârsta de doar 12 ani, era moartă. Când El a dat ordin, duhul a ieşit din îndrăcit, duhul de boală a ieşit din femeia bolnavă, iar în fetiţa moartă a reintrat Duhul de viaţă.

Nimeni nu a putut, nici atunci şi nici acum, să-şi explice aceste minuni, pentru că minunile nu se explică. Sunt dincolo de capacitatea noastră de a le explica. Dar le putem crede, iar încrederea noastră în El ne dă calitatea de credincioşi. Credincioşii lui Dumnezeu!

Şi astăzi, oamenii posedaţi sunt eliberaţi prin credinţă în Numele Lui. Şi astăzi, oamenii bolnavi sunt vindecaţi în Numele Lui. Şi astăzi se întâmplă, rareori, ca oamenii morţi să învieze. El este Acelaşi şi astăzi!

Mark 5 describes the manifestation of divine authority in the most desperate human experiences: incurable disease, demonic possession, and death. In this chapter, the Lord encountered suffering.

The action presented in chapter 5 takes place in Gadara: “They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.” (v.1)  Gadara was not part of Israel, being a pagan area located in what is today Jordan. At that time, Gadara was a Greco-Roman center, part of the Decapolis, a league of ten cities with administrative autonomy.

Chapter 5 presents the Savior’s encounter with three people whose lives were transformed in a supernatural way: a demon-possessed man, a woman with a terminal illness, and a desperate father whose daughter had died.

1.     The healing of the demon-possessed man (vv. 1–20) When He got out of the boat, the Lord Jesus was met by a man possessed who lived among the tombs: “This man lived in the tombs” (v.3), “no one could bind him anymore” (v.3), “no one was strong enough to subdue him” (v.4), “Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.” (v.5) The Savior commanded the impure spirit to come out of him. The spirit asked the Lord for permission to go into a herd of pigs that was nearby, and He allowed it: “…the people saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.” (v.15) The herd of pigs into which the demons entered rushed into the lake and drowned. The locals were frightened and begged the Lord to leave their region.

2.     The healing of the sick woman and the raising of Jairus’s daughter (vv. 21–43) Jairus, the leader of the synagogue in Gadara, came to the Lord, begging Him to come to his house and heal his sick daughter. While they were walking through the crowd on the way to Jairus’s house, a woman with a bleeding problem, sick for twelve years, touched the Lord’s cloak, saying to herself: “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” (v.28) The woman did not ask for a meeting with the Savior; she only touched His cloak by faith, a sign of both desperation and hope, and she was healed immediately. Personal faith brings healing and restoration: “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” (v.34) Jesus not only healed her physically but also restored her identity when He called her “Daughter …” (v.34). While Jesus was still speaking to the woman, news arrived that Jairus’s daughter had died. What must the father have thought, knowing that the Lord could have reached his daughter sooner if He had not been stopped by the sick woman? Despite this devastating news, the Savior asked Jairus to continue on to his house, saying: “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” (v.36) The Savior reached Jairus’s house and, ignoring the weeping of those inside, went into the girl’s room and said: “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” (v.41)

Faith must overcome fear and skepticism. He freed the demon-possessed man by saying: “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!” (v.8) He healed the sick woman by saying: “Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” (v.34) He raised the dead girl by saying: “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” (v.41) That is how He created the universe—by speaking. That is how He performed these three miracles here in Gadara—by speaking. In His words there is a creative, incredible, and miraculous power! He is God! The demon-possessed man was dehumanized, isolated, violent, living among the tombs, excluded from society. The woman, sick for twelve years, was desperate, impoverished by medical expenses, and marginalized. Jairus’s daughter, at only twelve years old, was dead. When He gave the command, the spirit left the possessed man, the spirit of sickness left the sick woman, and into the dead girl reentered the Spirit of life.

No one could then, and no one can now, explain these miracles, because miracles cannot be explained. They are beyond our ability to explain. But we can believe them, and our trust in Him makes us believers. Believers in God!

Even today, the possessed are set free through faith in His Name. Even today, the sick are healed in His Name. Even today, though rarely, the dead are raised. He is the Same today!
